Bramblepaw's First Time Hunting!

Bramblepaw padded behind Graystream through the forest.

"Sure," Firelight meowed as he padded out of camp with the other cats following close behind. They all stopped somewhere near Sunningrocks when Firelight scented something. Firelight sniffed the air, he turned to Bramblepaw, "Can you tell what animals scent that is, Bramblepaw?"

Bramblepaw sniffed. "Mouse I believe." she said

"Thats right." Firelight said. "Alright now do you know the difference between sneaking up a mouse and a rabbit?"

"I honestly don't know." Bramblepaw admitted. "How?"

"Well, a rabbit can hear you before it can feel your footsteps and a mouse can feel you before it can hear you." Firelight meowed, "So when sneaking up on a mouse you have to.....?" Firelight waited for Bramblepaw to finish the sentence.

"Be very quiet and crouch really low?" She half asked half answered.

"Yes," Firelight said, "But you have also have to make sure to pad extra softly, like so." Firelight dropped into the Hunter's Crouch. "Being extra quiet is what you need to do for a rabbit."

"Okay." Bramble said

Graystream raised his head and flicked his tail towards a bush. A small vole could be seen scurying around in the marshy land. He signaled with his ear that it was up for grabs for whoever wanted to catch it.

Bramble stepped up and got into a crouch. She got a little closer. Then pounced. Killing the vole emidiatley before it could warn other animals.

"Very nice!" Graystream meowed encouragingly as he looked under her paw. "How's it feel to make your first catch?" Graystream asked as a smile was clear on his face.
