Time to make up

Snakefire padded around highpines. He knew that if he stayed there long enough Shadowsong would come running. His fur was matted from looking for Heartstar, his eyes were red from little sleep.

And Snakefire was right. Shadowsong, with her head hung low and her gaze at the ground, hadn't even realized her paws had taken her to the Highpines. When she finally looked up, she glanced right at snakefire, finally showing the newly-made scar over her left eye. "What are you doing here?" She asked warily.

OOC: it's just a scar. she's not blind :P

Snakefire looked at her and meowed “what’s wrong with your eye. I'm here because I heard through the grapevine that Blackraven was dead”.

"Dustpaw... scratched me pretty bad." She sighed and looked back down at the ground. "And yes, you heard right."

"Well I know how you feel. Heartstar is gone to. My mate and my leader, my whole life..gone. Even Dragonsoul is gone. And why? All because of me. Heartstar never would have left if I had stayed in SkyClan. It's all my fault...",his voice trailed of for the memories were to harsh.

Shadowsong couldn't help but feel sympathy for Snakefire no matter how much she usually wanted to rip his fur off. "Snakefire, that's not your fault. You couldn't control any of it. Don't blame yourself," She mewed, looking back up at him.

"yes but Dragonsoul was your friend and wanted to help her. I wanted her dead. What kind of brother does that? And you have kits from Blackraven. All i have are memories". Snakefire seemed a bit comfortable talking to shadowsong. Though he usually wanted to kill her, right now she felt like a friend.

She couldn't say anything the whole Dragonsoul situation, but when it came to memories, she knew what to tell him. "Well, you know, memories won't fail you. I know that. And besides, I bet Heartstar will return. She's your leader, after all... and mate. Starclan wouldn't allow a clan to go without a leader like that."

Snakefire grew a bit happy, "well I guess, but...". He didn't want to say anything else. He hadn't even wanted to tell Sootpelt or Dragonsoul. But who would Shadowsong tell?

"But..?" She repeated, a little curiosity showing under her depression and despair. She was still upset by her own losses, but she shared some of them with Snakefire. Besides, she was starting to feel a friendly connection to this Skyclan warrior, and she was hating to see him so upset.

"Well there's someone else. Lightnigpaw. Ever sence i met her i felt the same thing i felt for Heartstar, but magnified. It's wrong but I know she feels the same way. What do I do", Snakefire blinked and he thought he saw Dragonsoul smiling behind Shadowsong, though it soon faded.

She blinked, not really expecting to hear that from him. She was silent for a few moments before speaking again. "Follow your heart, that's what you do. And to me, it's obvious your heart's telling you to go to Lightningpaw." She mewed.

"But Heartstar",he said feebly. He thought a bit and started to laugh.

Shadowsong twitched her ear and swished her tail at his laughing. "What's so funny?" She asked.

"Because... We haven't striked each other once. I would have tred to blind you by now",he laughted a bit more at the idea of him going soft.
