She over came a hill and spotted two bodies on the ground. "Swiftstar! Rainstar!" she gasped, muffled through leaves. She ran up to them. "Are you okay?"

"Whatever you do, focus on nothing but the kits." she meowed sternly. She was already wounded... if something were to go wrong, it could be the end for both her and her kits.

Rainstar lay on the ground and did as she was told. She was frightened; how was she supposed to leave a clan behind, just in the blink of an eye?

"Alright." Ebonyroot whispered under her breath.

"Push, Rainstar." she meowed, placing her paws on the leaders belly. "Now!"

Ebonyroot quickly took the kit when it came into the world. She nipped the sack and licked it furiously, setting it by his mother when she finished.
"He's alright, Rainstar." she meowed, "You're almost there."

The she-cat's eyes fluttered. Rainstar felt dizzy, and the pain was unbearable.

A pool of blood started to clear around the she-cat.
"No!" Ebonyroot hissed, and pressed down on her stomach, helping the kit come out.
She did the same with it as the other kit, bringing life into the small bundle.

"It's over." She said, a strong doubt in her voice. "You're going to be okay."

Jaystar knew this wasn't true. The star on his head glowed as time stopped in it's tracks. All but Rainstar were frozen in the fast space.
