Better Days [Closed]

She awoke to the sweetest of voices calling out her name like it was the most precious flower, as if had the speaker been too careless with the way they pronounced her name it'd fold its petals and crumble up. As if it were something worth loving. Copperkit blinked the sleep out of her eyes, green gaze peering up at her sister. The morning light washed her sister's cream pelt a light gold with a dusting of silver flecks. She smiled so sweetly too. Her ears flicked at the loud noise, however-- she didn't mind hearing Shrewkit's voice all day, but stars was it loud. It made her want to shush her sister and bring her to a more private place. She wanted to be the only one allowed to hear that voice. That joyous trill that ended every sentence, that puntuated every word with excitement. It filled her with her own kind of thrill. The pale tortoiseshell tipped her head to the side, blinking at Shrewkit in a display of innocence. "What's today?" She prompted, conscious of the way her own joy oozed into her words in the form of a quiet purr. She already knew what the answer was, but anything to keep her sister talking. It was a much more enjoyable thing to listen to than her own voice.
