It was with rather more tact than she had dragged off Sootstorm that Goldengale approached their leader. Tigerdance had always been in a position of power and respect as long as she could remember, and anyways he was a little less… a little more imposing than Sootstorm was.

The golden molly waited until the coast was clear, then ran up to Tigerdance, grinning. “Want to go on patrol? I think Molehill spotted a rabbit warren just over the rise!”

The leader was a little caught off guard by suddenly being approached by Goldengale, showing that she had some energy to burn. Which was a refresher from all the sick cats that were around, including himself. "Sure, why not. I could use the exercise." He was certain he would get an earful from Daisy or Soot later but he didn't care. "Lead the way." He told the she-cat.

Goldengale grinned brightly as she led the way out of their makeshift camp, fur glistening in the sunlight. The rabbit warren wasn’t a very long walk, and she filled it with chatting and laughing easily. Once they finally reached their destination, the young warrior had to bite back the instinct to lead the charge, instead glancing at Tigerdance. “Erm- you lead the way, I guess? What’s the plan?”

"When I'm normally hunting with others, one of us will try and drive rabbits towards the other, while also still attempting the catch ourselves." The leader explained. "When I'm hunting on my own I do my usual chase tactic." Green eyes looked away from the warren over to his warrior. "How would you like to do this? It is your patrol after all." He might have been leader, but she was the one who found the warren, she was also the one who invited him out. He didn't mind taking the back seat for once.

Goldengale’s eyes lit up. Oh, yes. She definitely liked Tigerdance. Absolutely. Her sort of cat, yeah?

“Ah, sweet! Okay, okay- maybe if we both start, like, digging or—“ She trailed off, eyes suddenly fixed on a nearby brown shape. Oh, sweet. A few rabbits were already out, digging through the snow for grass or whatever rabbits ate. Goldengale traded a delighted glance with Tigerdance, paws itching. He’d figure it out, she was sure, and besides the Clan wasn’t starving or anything. They could afford to have some fun, yeah?

With a grin, she bolted down the hill, ploughing through the snow. The rabbits scattered, warned by her not-exactly-stealthy approach, but Goldengale was fast, and the snow was less of an obstacle to her bulky build. Just a little faster- with a mighty leap, she sunk her fangs into the rabbit’s neck, brutally shaking it like a dog would, blood flying onto the snow, and did not stop until it was well and truly dead.

The limp crimson scrap hanging from her jaws, she turned to see how Tigerdance was faring, uncaring of how messy her own kill had been. They were always like that, anyways; it felt too good, to feel her teeth part the warm flesh and connect with bones that snapped under her mighty jaws.

Tigerdance watched Goldengale start speaking but cut herself off as her attention was dragged away. The striped tom watched as she took off after a rabbit, realizing that the plan they were going to try was just not an option at this point. Which was fine, sometimes you didn't need to think while hunting. The tall tom was quick to lock on to his own prey. A tan rabbit was his to hunt down, and just like the other warrior did, he broke out into a sprint after it.

Shortly after the sprint started, the tom had to stop as he broke out in a coughing fit letting the rabbit get away. After his coughs stopped, the tom cursed under his breath. He didn't need to make a fool of himself right now, the clan needed food.

Tigerdance attempted to catch a rabbit, failed. -5 SP

Goldengale winced in sympathy. Rough luck. Should he really be out hunting if he was sick like that? Probably not, but then again she wasn’t going to stop him. His decision to make, not hers.

“Rough luck!” She called, walking slowly towards him, talking awkwardly around the rabbit in her mouth. “Wanna keep goin’? I can bury this ‘un quick as blinking.”

If were up to her, she absolutely would keep hunting, but if he wanted to turn back, she wouldn’t stop him. Especially not when he was obviously sick. If that sickness could keep her brother down, it was most definitely something worth staying in camp over. And yet… there were probably more rabbits over the rise, and the blood in her mouth was already stale. Another kill would be just the thing to help banish the creeping worry over her brother.

Tigerdance shook his head, trying to clear up anything that plague his head or his body. It didn't matter if he was sick, he still had a clan to provide for. He would catch something, somehow. "I'm alright, we can keep going." He told the warrior, knowing she was going to go bury her catch, so he would try and track down another rabbit, knowing they were lingering in the area.

The striped tom walked through the field, maw open trying to track down a rabbit. It didn't take too long for the scent to drift over his nose. Green eyes carefully looked around the field, before spying the brown and white creature, slowly munching away at the dried grass of leaf-bare. Perfect. He would catch this one. The chase began just as the others had, but this time he fought against the sickness creeping up on him. Once the rabbit was within reach the tom tackled the creature to the ground, digging his teeth into it's throat. He came up, his chest heaving, thankful for having caught at least one.
