Mosskit's Apprentice Ceremony

Poppyshine

The kits that were born into RiverClan grew up swiftly, and the same could be said for Mosskit who be leaving the nursery today once she earned her apprentice name. Poppyshine was excited for her and she poked her head into the nursery to call upon the kit in question and lead her out to the middle of camp. Poppyshine announced, “Let all cats old enough to catch their own fish gather for a Clan meeting!” before she hopped up onto the Willow Branch and turned to give Mosskit a welcoming smile.

Poppyshine

Mosskit looked eager to become an apprentice and Poppyshine would not make her wait any longer. As cats gathered to observe the ceremony, Poppyshine announced, “Mosskit, you have reached the age of six moons. It is now time for you to be apprenticed. From this day forward, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Mosspaw.”

That of course was only one part of the ceremony. Arguably the more important bit was being assigned the mentor that would guide her through the intricacies of clan life. What better way to honor this new kit entering apprenticeship than with honoring a new warrior?

“Your mentor shall be Bubblenose, whose fresh enthusiasm and love for our clan will guide you down the best path of becoming a warrior,” Poppyshine declared. With the mentor announced, she stepped down from her branch to cheer on their newest apprentice.
