Forest Speak Softpaw's mouth watered as she looked over the fresh-kill pile, a rumbling in her stomach spurring the young molly to finally take her pick. Each piece of prey was disgustingly thin, though the bird she had chosen seemed to be the plumpest out of her available options. Softpaw lingered in front of the pile a few moments longer, an idea coming to her.
The molly scooped up her second choice, a squirrel whose tail seemed just as meaty as its body, then padded off in search of anyone that could understand her. It wasn't a long search. Wigglepaw's giant body was the first to catch her eye. Perfect, he wouldn't mind is she snuck a bite or two would he? Dropping the prey in front of the tom Softpaw made sure to drag the bird closer to herself before speaking. "Would you mind eating with me, Wiggle?"

Wigglepaw, perhaps feeling a little better than usual, padded into the camp after a trip to the nearest creek for a bit of water. It was rough for Thunderclan, but at least they still had fresh water to drink and plenty of shelter from the wind. He scanned the clearing, almost instinctively searching for Cloudychase's white pelt before remembering with a jolt that he was still missing. Chest tight, the brown tom slunk to the edge of the camp, his tail brushing the dusty ground as he went. It had been moons since Cloudychase vanished and still he clung to the hope that he might someday return...it really was pathetic, wasn't it?
His stomach rumbled, twisting painfully as if to remind him of the never-ending hunger that seemed to plague the forest. Hah, as if he needed to be reminded of that. This hunger- this famine seemed to color every bit of his life now. Wigglepaw sighed, leaning against the bramble wall and sliding onto the ground with a grunt. He wished Cloudychase was here - he would know what to do. Then, the approaching figure of a cat caught his attention. Who was it now? Sageroot again?
But no, it was just Softpaw. The young tom breathed a sigh of relief, his shoulders relaxing. She was like him, a feral, so for once he would be able to speak in his father's tongue. Wigglepaw's dark eyes dropped to the scrawny squirrel for a moment before returning to the she-cat, curious. He didn't know her very well, but then again, he didn't really know anyone all that well. "O-Oh, hello. Uhm...not at all." Great Sun, his words were coming out all muddled up, what was wrong with him?
Sitting up, Wigglepaw nudged the squirrel awkwardly, unsure of what to say. "So...how're you doin'?" He scanned her pelt, not missing the bones that protruded a little more than usual. He and the others were feeling the effects of the famine a little more than the forest cats what with their bigger appetites and larger bodies. It took a lot of food to sustain them, a fact he was keenly aware of thanks to Cloudychase.
