Shining fire >closed<

Peonylight was waiting at the camp entrance for her mother. They were assigned to a hunting patrol and the sun was just peeking out from the horizon. Peonylight smiled as she noticed firefly and gave a nudge as a gretting. "Where should we hunt?" she asked getting ready to turn and leave the camp. 

It did bother her that she wasn't really present during Peonylights apprenticeship, but she was determined to make it up to her. First step was bonding through the only things Firefly really knew: daily warrior duties. Work was all she knew... Being a mother so suddenly? She didn't know where to start. Although her own mother was being supportive in this new role. "Somewhere with dense foliage for cover would be a good start."

The older molly led the way to a place not too far from camp, yet far from any borders. This would be a hunt. Not a scuffle; even if there was a peace treaty going on. A flame-coloured tail lightly touched her daughters flank as a signaled to stop when her ears picked up rustling.

A rabbit.

Crouching low and biding her time, she watched the rabbit nibble the green leaves of a fern. Only for it to look directly at Firefly and take off. Muscles rippled under flame-like pelt as she bolted after it, leaping only to snag its fur in her claws and get away. Tsk.

Firefly failed to catch the rabbit.

Peonylight watched her mother hunt a rabbit and completely missing. Peonylight sniled at padded up to her. "Good try mom, lets see if im any better." she mewed then went quiet. Short ways away she heard the flapping of wings and looked towards the direction.

A small sparrow, with the prettiest feathers, was landing in the grass to eat. Peonylight took this moment and quietly snuck up on the unsuspecting bird.  Just as it was about to look up, Peonylight pounced. Her claws landed dirctly on the wings and she quickly bit down on its neck, killing it. She secretly grabbed one of the brown feathers, putting it behind her peony on her ear, before burying the bird to keep ot hidden. She smiled at her mother as peonylight padded up to her.

Firefly gave a purr of congratulations to the well executed kill. Peonylight had certainly grown away from her skittish nature of when they had first met. The praise for that should probably go to the friends her daughter had surrounded herself with.

It hadn't gone entirely unnoticed that Peonylight had pulled something from her catch and tucked it away. A puzzled looked was apparently on the older mollys face. "Have you gotten into a hobby of sort"

A slight smile crossed her russet maw at her daughter's excitement over this new hobby. "Maybe you could show me your collection sometime. Or perhaps find me a feather you think would suit me."
