The sandy hollow was often used for training apprentices, but Nightdancer considered it to be a decently useful space for sparring as well. That was what had brought her there today: a request for one of her fellow ThunderClan cats to spar with her, for fear that she might be losing her touch. She'd spent far more time hunting and sleeping than she had training as of late.

Additionally, she thought it might be a good way of bonding with her Clanmates; sparring was something she'd always enjoyed, the thrill of battle without the risks, and it was something she had missed when she distanced herself from most of the cats around her. It would be good to challenge herself, in more ways than one.

"Are you ready?"

Nightdancer didn't wait for a proper answer, instead leaping into action. She was a trained warrior, with skill and experience, even if she maybe felt a little bit rusty.

The effect dice have decreed that Nightdancer gets the first attack!

There were cats in ThunderClan that were only passively in Firefly's life, though she would die for them regardless. It had taken her halfway through warriorhood to understand that the faults she saw in an impure bloodline were things she shared with more than half the clan - with her brother and sisters. She did not care anymore who held what blood or even bother to ask. Though there would always be a nagging suspicion of future betrayal of anyone who clanhopped to be in ThunderClan.

That being said, she looked to the cat standing before her as an equal. Not a single thought of what she could be, but on if she was capable of protecting ThunderClan with her life. "I'm always ready."

The form of the older warrior showed she was more seasoned than Firefly, which only upped the excitement of their spar. Muscles rippled under sleek coat, paws lashing out in a flurry of a one-two combo.

Firefly used Front Paw Strike (10) paired with Thunderous Stomp (3), dealing a total of 13 damage and costing 17 total SP.

"Not bad," she offered, clearly winded. "I haven't practiced as much as I should, lately."

Praise from a seasoned warrior made Firefly have to fight the urge to puff out her chest. Who could blame her, though? Although she couldn't possibly relate to slacking on her training, she felt compelled to at least reply. "It's never too late to pick it back up."

"That's the idea, isn't it?" Nightdancer agreed, recovered as the younger warrior snapped at her again. "Practice makes perfect, and perseverance is key."

She moved with the grace that had earned her her name, and powerfully slammed her paws down in a mirror of Firefly's earlier movements. It was a good strategy, and using your opponent's tactics against them was usually not a terrible idea in the first place.

Nightdancer used Front Paw Strike + Thunderous Stomp, dealing 13 damage and costing 17 SP! Firefly is stunned for 1 turn!

Nightdancer took advantage of the momentary situation to try something a little different; a high-risk, high-reward strategy. Sparring was the perfect time to practice something like that, wasn't it? Free of the danger that accompanied such risks in a real battle.

And she was glad she hadn't tried it in a real fight, as she failed spectacularly; misjudging her jump completely. She landed on her paws, but opened herself to to an easy counter.

Nightdancer used Belly Rake, costing 25 SP and dealing 5 damage to herself!
