Ravenkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Perchstar got up onto the Willow Branch for another apprentice ceremony. It was almost strange to be doing these again, but it fell under the scope of her duties, so it wasn't too abnormal. Though the kits she and Owlcall found had been of rogue blood, they had fit in very well with the other RiverClan cats. She had great hopes for them all from apprenticeship to warriorhood. Hopefully they proved her right. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own fish gather for a Clan meeting."

Ravenkit was quick to scamper out of the nursery at Perchstar's call. Morningpaw and Dovepaw had already been apprentices so it was only a matter of time for it to be his turn. He hoped he would get a good mentor. One that would show him all the good spots to get the best prey, maybe even find the shiniest rocks!

Briefly it crossed his mind the it might be Swan's turn.. or Pidge's.. maybe even Crow's.. the black kit deflated a little at the thought. He would be happy for them of course, but he wanted it to be his turn.

At his former mentors call the large brown warrior approached the gathering area. He was watching all of his siblings be named apprentices one by one. It was strange to see these kits grow up so fast but he couldn't be more proud of them.

Once Perchstar spotted Ravenkit in the crowd, she made eye contact with him and waved her tail once, beckoning him forward. "Ravenkit, you have reached the age of six moons and are ready to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Ravenpaw. Your mentor will be Fawneye. I trust that she will pass all her knowledge onto you." The ceremony over, she leapt off of the Willow Branch, watching with appreciation for her Clan as others came forward to congratulate him.

Dovepaw rushed forward once his brother--the newly named Ravenpaw--had spoken first with his mentor. "Hey, congratulations!" he said sincerely, waving his fluffy tail. All his siblings were going to join him in the den, and then they could all patrol together sometime! It was so nice to finally be out of the nursery, and he was excited to do apprentice things with everyone. "Ravenpaw!"
