Snowkit's Apprentice Ceremony

The aging tabby tom leaped onto the ancient willow bough, making it sway and swing precariously under his paws. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather for a Clan meeting!" Reedstar called. It was that time again, for another kit to leave the nursery.

Shallowpaw trotted over to the center of the clearing and sat down. "Another apprentice ceremony?" he asked himself.

Snowkit rushed to the clearing and sits by Shallowpaw. She looked up at her leader with a bit of confusion. What is going on?

"Snowkit," Reedstar said as the Clan finally gathered. "You have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Snowpaw. Sunfur will be your mentor. I hope he can pass down all he knows onto you."

Snowpaw shyly dipped her head to her leader and said, "Thank you." She then turned around and looked for her mentor.

Shallowpaw purred. "Congratulations Snowpaw!" he meowed.

Snowpaw looked at Shallowpaw. "Thank you," she purred.

He dipped his head. "You're welcome," he meowed. Shallowpaw smiled.

Snowpaw returned his smile then she looked around the camp.

Fogkit bounded up to Snowpaw "I knew that was gonna happen!" she exlaimed. She smiled, "You have to tell me what it is like." she insisted her eyes locked with Snowpaws. Her mind swirled, when will I get my ceremony? The thought lingered for a bit before she shook it off, soon enough right?

Snowpaw smiled at Fogkit. "W-well, apprentices train with their mentors and they hunt. And..." She had just became an apprentice, she didn't really know what it's like yet.

"I know that! Maybe we will be apprentices together." she said her eyes glowing. Waving her tail she added, "I will miss you." her voice was barley above a whisper. She smiled before letting her tail drop.

"Me too." Snowpaw replied and looked down at her paws.

Fogkit smiled and looked up. "Come on, one more game?" she pleaded to Snowpaw, her eyes shining she sighed. The nursery had at least a few kits she thought.

"Sure." Snowpaw replied and smiled at Fogkit. "What do you want to play?"
