Another day, another patrol.

After being assigned Peonypaw as an apprentice, Ridgecrest’s days had all-too-often been filled with instruction and teaching. Today, however, he’d been assigned to a hunting patrol (and told to look out for a scented owl, but he hoped it wouldn’t come to that) and, unless Acornstem had assigned his apprentice to the same patrol, this might just be… hunting. Not that he disliked teaching Peonypaw- quite the opposite- it was that he was always worried, always anxious that he’d slip up and traumatize his apprentice for life.

Still, his mentor had been a murderer, so he supposed he couldn’t get much worse than that.

The large tabby tom stood by camp entrance, flicking his tail and waiting for the other members of his patrol. It was just after sun-high, after all- no-one should be terribly late.

Beetleshade wasn't overly fond of patrols, she honestly preferred hunting alone but she understood the necessity. After her apprentice, Molepaw, had disappeared, she'd been faced with much more free time than she'd have liked, so she'd volunteered for this patrol. Joining Ridgecrest at the camp entrance, she nodded in greeting to the younger warrior and sat down to wait for the other members who would be joining them.
