Kitten's first playmate reboot [closed]

Peonykit followed behind amberpaw as they headed towards the apprentice den. Soon she will be old enough to move into this den and make more friends with the apprentices. She looked around seeing how bare it was, wondering where all the apprentices were. Peonykit decided not to question too much and started to focus on Amberpaw when he started to inform her about the den.

The apprentice's den - a thick growth of ferns resting behind the large stump of a tree - truly was bare. Amberpaw knew that all the apprentices were out and about, like himself. They had no time for sleeping in or resting in their nests.

"Once you are six moons of age, Acornstem will hold a ceremony in which you will become an apprentice and be given a mentor. Then, you will join me in the apprentice's den. It's not as...cozy as the nursery, but it isn't bad if your nest is by your friends. Have any questions about apprenticeship?" This was perhaps the topic Amberpaw knew best. He sat, eager to answer anything Peonykit might ask.

peonykit knew Amberpaw would probably want questions as he was pretty knowledgeable about being one. "How long a day do you do stuff. is it all day? or just some parts of the day? Are there breaks? Naps? Playtime?" She mewed off all her questions with a big smile knowing what she was doing to him.

The influx of questions seemed to satisfy Amberpaw. He gave Peonykit a proud smile before diving into his answers. "Apprentices train pretty much all day, but it depends on your mentor. Briarrose gives me plenty of breaks, because she doesn't want me to get burnt out. But, us apprentices wake up before dawn and don't arrive back at the den until after sunset on most days. Some apprentices take naps in between training sessions, but I usually pick up extra tasks to fill my time. As for playtime...I try to visit the nursery every few days to play with my friend, Fawnkit. The other apprentices will occasionally visit the nursery to play with kits as well." Amberpaw paused to take a breath.

"It sounds like a lot of work, but it is worth it in the end. I find enjoyment in my duties - enjoyment in falling asleep at the end of the day, knowing everything I've done has been for the well being of Thunderclan. I'm sure you will, too."

Poenykit smiled as her friend excitedly answered the questions. "whats next then oh majestic apprentice ?" she asked teasing him.

"Last but surely not least, the warrior's den: right by the camp entrance." Amberpaw led his friend across the sandy ravine of Thunderclan's camp to the den in question, where he stopped. The den was a large bush, branches reaching out to hide the nests made underneath. "This is where we'll end up one day. The warriors sleep by the camp's entrance in case of an attack. It is their duty to ensure the safety of Thunderclan."

Peonykit nodded as she let out a tiny yawn. All this information was making her a little tired but she was trying to hide it from amberpaw as he was spending time with her and she was enjoying it.

Amberpaw noticed the kitten's yawn, and felt his heart sink. He had probably been keeping Peonykit from a nap! Sleep was important for kits, he knew. 

"Well, that's the end of our tour. Come on, let's get you back to the nursery. I have...erm...apprentice duties to do." Amberpaw didn't really have anything to do, but he didn't want to embarrass Peonykit by pointing out that she was sleepy. The swirled tabby lead his little friend across camp, back to the nursery.
