While Acornstem had been adjusting to her new duties rather well, especially when it came to ushering in their next era of apprentices, it didn't mean that Mottlestar was completely free from conducting ceremonies of her own. There had been a particular apprentice who had completed her training swiftly, and Mottlestar knew it was time for them to fully earn their name. Taking just a moment to steady herself before leaping to the top of the rock, Mottlestar called out to the Clan. "Let all cats old neough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!"

Her gaze scanned the gathering crowd as they all joined, and Mottlestar found herself reciting all of the possible names she could bestow upon the young molly. She had shown promise, tenacity, a care for her clanmates, and so much more. However, all at the same time, there was a sudden dawn of clarity upon her. Yes - she knew exactly what she would call Thunderclan's newest warrior. It was a process that Mottlestar had typically ruminated on before calling the ceremony, but she just hadn't been able to come up with a name.

Until now. Now, the leader was sure.

With enough of the clan assembled, Mottlestar called once more. "Thunderclan, we gather to recognize an apprentice who has trained hard to learn the ways of our noble code, and in turn, it is time to bestow upon her a warrior name. Copperpaw, please step forward." While her gaze had swept across the crowd, it now focused on the apprentice in question. "You have trained swiftly. Do you promise to uphold the warrior code that you have learned, and to defend and protect your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Copperpaw's eyes flew open as her name was called. The same fear from her last ceremony flooded her yet again. Her throat ran dry, and it suddenly seemed as if she was drowing. Her paws moved against her will to heed her leader's call, and she pushed through the crowd of cats to stand before Mottedstar. The thought of begging for the leader to make an exception, to allow her not have to speak, flashed briefly through her mind, but she knew that it was not in question. "I do," The words were confident, a different world from what she really wanted to say. I am not worthy of a warrior name... the thought made her heart break. I am but a liar...

It was with a trained gaze that the leader noticed the anxiety that seemed to suddenly storm the apprentice. As much as she wished to leap down and console the young cat, she was rooted to her position above. The only thing she could think of was to continue as smoothly as possible, and to commend the she-cat in such a way that would hopefully quell that storm beneath her pelt.

"Then it is only fit you receive your warrior name. Copperpaw, you have shown the virtues of a kind heart, a quick mind, and a dedication to learning that are all fit of a warrior. Your fellow apprentices speak highly of you, and so it is now that you have grown beyond the name of Copperpaw." Her tone took one of much more warmth than before, and Mottlestar took one more step along the edge of the Highrock. As if to bring herself just a bit closer for comfort.

"Thunderclan, I am honored to introduce you all to your newest warrior: Copperlark. Let us all welcome our newest warrior!"

Copperlark. The name sounded foreign on her tongue. It was weird, unusual even. Can cats even be called -lark? She certainly never knew one by that name. Her heart was hammering, but it was all over now. Copperlark. She felt almost giddy, with relief or joy she could not tell. "Copperlark," She whispered to herself, as if trying to convince herself it really was her name.

Shrewpaw burst forth, not just chanting but yelling out her sister's new name so that the entire forest could hear. Copperlark, first of their siblings to become an apprentice and now first to become a warrior. Shrewpaw could feel sadness creeping in on her at the thought that they would be serparated again, but she pushed it back for now. This was a moment to be celebrated! "Copperlark! You have such a pretty name! I'm so proud of you sis!" As much as Shrewpaw wanted to smother her sister in love, she managed to hold herself back. It was really foxing hard to do so. Instead, Shrewpaw beamed up at Copperlark, wide eyes filled with admiration and love.

With any luck, things would happen the way they did before. In a couple days Shrewpaw would have her ceremony, and they would be reunited again. Yeah. That was definitely going to happen.

Calling her new name with pride, Cedarpaw got up from his spot on the edge of the clearing, a bit disappointed that he was being left behind again. Hopefully, he and Shrewpaw wouldn't be too far behind Copperlark. Knowing his luck, he'd be left in the apprentice's den with Amberpaw when Shrewpaw eventually became a warrior as well.

However, this was supposed to be a happy time. So, banishing the thoughts from his mind, Cedarpaw padded forward after the ceremony was over, his amber eyes on Copperlark's happy face. It made him happy to see her so filled with joy, she absolutely deserved this, after all.

The tom stopped short as Shrewpaw hustled in, showering her sister with congratulations and plenty of love. He slid in beside Shrewpaw and smiled, softly congratulating Copperlark on becoming a warrior. "It's a good name, Copperlark." Though it was odd after calling her Copperpaw for so long, it was very pretty.

Especially since she was named after a bird, that was a funny coincidence. "Just know that we won't be far behind you. Shrewpaw and I are gonna be warriors pretty soon, isn't that right?"

He peered playfully at Shrewpaw - third leader of Birdclan and undoubtedly one of his best friends. Maybe, he and Shrewpaw would even become warriors at the same time, just like when they were apprenticed at the same time.

Copperlark, Amberpaw thought. The fire-colored tom sat just outside the apprentice's den, amber eyes grazing over the large crowd, which he chose to stay out of. Too many cats tried to talk to you, when you were in a crowd. Too many pressed against your sides, eliminating all thought of personal space. That's a unique name. Lovely, too. The large figure stood and circled around the edge of the crowd to reach Thunderclan's newest warrior. But, by the time he made it, Shrewpaw and Cedarpaw had beaten him there.

"Congratulations, Copperlark," Amperpaw purred as he came up beside Shrewpaw and Cedarpaw. He couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness as the loneliness from kithood rushed back to him. Soon, Shrewpaw and Cedarpaw will be warriors, too. And then it will just be me in the apprentice's den. Then, he suddenly remembered - well, just me and Fawnkit, once she's an apprentice. This thought brightened him up a little.

Sitting amongst the crowd, Curlyfluff chanted his former apprentice's name along with his clanmates. "Copperlark! Copperlark!" Watching as her siblings and friends gathered around to congratulate her, a purr erupted from the tom's throat and soft smile rested on his muzzle. He was so proud of her and couldn't wait to see what an amazing and strong warrior she would become.
