Dawnkit nodded happily, glad that she was good at something, lifted a paw and swiped her paw at the stick. The stick snapped in half and Dawnkit gave a satisfied purr.

Tawnyshadow was surprised by the strength of the kit. She'll grow into a good fighter, she thought to herself. "Wow, that's very impressive! Why don't you try this now?" She mewed, rearing on her hindlegs and slashing in the air before dropping back on all fours.

"sure!" Dawnkit replied excitedly, before rearing on her hindlegs and slashing at the air before landing back on all fours like Tawnypelt had done.

Tawnyshadow nodded in approval at the kit. "Okay, now try doing it on me. Remember to keep your claws seathed," She instructed.

Tawnyshadow jumped away from Dawnkit's swipe easily. Alright, maybe jump was a bit of a exgerration. Really, it was just a small step back. "Good, though in battle the enemy won't just stand there waiting for you to attack them," She continued, "Now, I'm going to try hitting you. You must try to avoid my attack."

With that said, Tawnyshadow raised a paw and batted gently at Dawnkit's ears.

The moment Dawnkit felt Tawnypelt batting her ears, she instantly ducked to the right.

Dawnkit had dodged, but not before Tawnyshadow's paws were able to touch the she-kit's ears. "Too slow, try again," Tawnyshadow mewed, raising her paw and slamming it next to Dawnkit.

Dawnkit dodged to her left, narrowly avoiding Tawnyshadow's paw by a few inches.

Tawnyshadow was reliefed when Dawnkit dodged. That blow may have been a bit hard, and she didn't want to accidentally hurt the she-kit. "very good," she purred.

"Let's do something else," she suggested. She didn't want another scenario where she accidentally hurt Dawnkit.

"okay!" Dawnkit replied enthusiastically. "Can we explore the camp? I haven't seen much of it yet..." Dawnkit asked Tawnypelt, swishing her bushy tail excitedly.

Tawnyshadow's whiskers twitched as she swept the she-kit along to the rest of the camp. Halting outside the apprentice's den, she told Dawnkit, "This is the apprentice den. When you become an apprentice, this is where you will be sleeping."

"This place looks really comfortable, more spacious than the nursery. I can't wait to become an apprentice and sleep here!" Dawnkit mewed excitedly.

"It won't be as spacious as the nursery, since there will be lots of apprentices, and the nursery will seem empty compared to it. Besides, you'll be so exhausted by your training you won't have time to appreciate the space in the den," Tawnyshadow replied without thinking, and almost immediately slapped her tail over her mouth. What use was it to disappoint the kit? She scolded herself and quickly swept Dawnkit away to another part of camp.

"This is the Warrior's den. It's where I sleep, as well as the other warriors," She described.
