Silverkit’s ears flicked up a bit when Nightstar began the ceremony properly. A name change ceremony? He’d never heard one of those before… His eyes lazily swept through the crowd, wondering who it would be and why. Then he called out Iceheart, and Silverkit was interested in the ceremony again. Pineblossom? It was… different, very. His tail twitched a bit at that. He supposed Iceheart really didn’t fit her, though, and she seemed happy about it, so this was a good thing either way, right? Whatever he thought, Silverkit was getting up to shuffle a little closer to the crowd, joining in cheering, “Pineblossom! Pineblossom!”
《OOC》Late post but I really needed and wanted to post before the topic was considered too old and I finally got a chance to do so. ❖ Forestbreezesettled down next to Iceheart when Nightstar called for a clan meeting. He almost didn't want to attend; Everything was so hard to do nowadays after the death of the litter. However, life had to go on and he forced himself to work and provide for the clan like he normally would. He had to be strong and he couldn't give up now, not when Iceheart continued going on. She was the strongest cat he knew and as his mate, he had to march on by her side. His love for her will keep him going, even after reaching rock bottom. The only way they could go is up. ღ
❖ OnceNightstar officially began the meeting, he was only half listening. He had initially believed it to be another apprentice ceremony or perhaps a warrior ceremony. What he wasn't expecting was a renaming ceremony for his mate. He nearly choked up while listening to the leader speak—his attention was fully on him now. Despite his ongoing inner turmoil, he still found joy. Pineblossom, it was beautiful. Hearing her new name brought it forth from where he had hidden the feeling deep within his battered heart. He dipped his head as he listened to the clan chant his mate's new name. No longer was she stuck with a cruel name so unfitting and undeserved. This new name was who she was always meant to be. Pineblossom, the love of his life. ღ
❖ "Pineblossom!Pineblossom!" he chanted loudly, putting his heart and soul into his calls. He, too, would treasure this new name. They had both needed this. His broken heart had been soothed even just the littlest bit. Warmth flooded him as he focused on Pineblossom. They would make it through this. He understood that the pain would never truly leave but he was determined to remain strong, strong together. Nightstar, Honeylight, everyone, thank you. ღ
