Celandinekit slowly shuffled out of the nursery, brown eyes looking around the camp with guarded interest. It was her first day out of the nursery and her mother reassured her that she could go out on her own, she just needed to be careful. So, careful she was.

The young kit's pace began to quicken as she slowly gained confidence. The outside wasn't so bad. She just made sure to keep out of her clanmates' paws, and there were lots of them! "Excuse me!" she mewed to one. "Sorry!" she said to another. It was tiring trying to dodge all the warriors and apprentices. The clan was busy and she didn't want to disrupt the flow but she really wanted to explore the camp.

Finally, she settled down near the edge of the clearing. She was just going to watch the clan work for now, at least, until she caught her breath. "It's a nice day today," she said to herself. Despite the cold of leaf-bare still going on, her bushy, soft kit fur kept her decently warm. It wasn't as long as her mother's but it'll one day get there. She hoped it would be as pretty.
