Subject: Juniperkit's Apprentice Ceremony Thu 19 Jan 2023 - 12:27
Camp was slowly coming along, and with it, so too were Skyclan's kits. Wolfblossom leapt up to the tallbranch with ease, albeit not as gracefully as Dawnfeather or Ravenclaw would have, and looked out over the camp. Today would be the first ceremony held since returning home, another sign that Skyclan would persevere as they always did. The kit that she and her sister and their apprentices had found was strong, and with a mentor to guide her would only become stronger.
"Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather beneath the tallbranch for a clan meeting!"
It felt like it had been eons since Juniperkit had joined SkyClan, and yet it still felt too soon for her to become an apprentice. She still had so much to learn, everything was still so new— and yet, feigning confidence, she slowly made her way onto Tallbranch to stand near Wolfblossom. She hoped and prayed to StarClan— another thing she had to learn more about— that her deputy and rescuer would pick a mentor that was willing to take their time with her.
Wolfblossom had thought about who to pick for this kit's mentor, and her mind had settled on one of the clan's newer warriors. An outsider by birth, but dedicated and kind. She waited for the warrior in question to appear as well as the kit whose ceremony this was. An affectionate smile made itself apparant as Juniperkit made it up to the tallbranch alongside Wolfblossom, and she gently reached down to touch her nose to the kit's ear. "Well, I guess I don't have to ask you to step forward, do I, Juniperkit?" She asked, amusement sparkling in her kind blue eyes. "You have reached the age of six moons, and so it is time for you to become an apprentice and learn the ways of our clan. From this moment forward, you will be known as Juniperpaw, and your mentor will be Creamsky." She raised her voice so the rest of the clan would hear her, offering the cream-colored warrior a smile. "I trust that he will pass on all he has learned to you, and show you the ways of clan life." She mewed.
"Go and greet him." She mewed gently. The urge to make Juniperpaw her own apprentice for popping up onto the tallbranch next to her had been a strong one, but one she had resisted. She felt protective over the kit she had found out near fourtrees, but Creamsky was someone Wolfblossom could trust, and it was better for him to also learn from having an apprentice rather than hoard them all to herself.
Following Wolfblossom’s word, the newly-appointed Juniperpaw carefully stepped down from Tallbranch and made her way slowly towards Creamsky. She had never met the warrior before, but a cat that had earned Wolfblossom’s trust in the way that he had would have Juniperpaw’s trust as well. He was a new warrior, she knew— she overheard a lot of the clan’s goings on from eavesdropping on Birdstar and Wolfblossom. He probably hasn’t had an apprentice before, has he? The thought gave the apprentice a surprising amount of comfort. They could learn together, she supposed, on how to better each other for SkyClan.
”Hello.” Juniperpaw greeted softly when she reached Creamsky. ”It's a pleasure to meet you. I’m excited to begin my training; I hope we become good friends!”
