❖ He was once again scenting the territory for any prey that may be scurrying around. Despite the difficulties Leaf-bare shoved their way, the hunting must never stop. The clan needed to be fed and he was only one of many out and about trying to provide for said clan. It helped that he enjoyed performing his duties. ღ

❖ A vole made it onto his radar after a while of searching. The grey-and-white warrior carefully snuck up onto the furry creature and as soon as he reached the distance he deemed safe enough, he leaped at it, claws ready to snatch. ღ

❖ Smiling as he felt his claw hit home, the tom quickly killed the vole with a well-placed bite. He buried it safely among the foliage and continued his search. He wanted to at least catch two prey before he headed back. He didn't want to push his luck... just in case... ღ

❖ It didn't take him too much longer to track down another critter. This time, he spotted a frog resting on a stump. It seemed to not have noticed him so far. Good. He needed to keep things that way. ღ

❖ Step by step, the tom-cat reached his destination. It seemed to be taking forever but he wasn't impatient. He knew that he couldn't rush this or the frog could leap away in a blink of an eye. He didn't want to risk it escaping. ღ

❖ Forest wiggled his rump once he had stopped. He'd have to leap a little higher than normal due to the frog's current resting place. Not a second later, he pounced at it, hoping not to overshoot. He just had to try his best. ღ

❖ "Huh?" The moment he landed on the stump, the frog was already gone. Strange. Something must've spooked it before he even had a chance to graze it. What a shame. He sighed as he watched the smooth-skinned prey slip away. ღ

❖ A chittering noise brought him out of his thoughts. His head turned as he tried to spot the source of the sounds. A grey-and-black creature popped out of some bushes. The large feline grunted. It was a raccoon! Was this what had scared away his prey? He arched his back and hissed at it, hoping it would take the hint and leave. Raccoons weren't normally too aggressive and but Leaf-bare could bring out the harsher side of things. The raccoon hissed back and leaped forward without warning. Yikes! ღ

❖ Forestbreeze hissed as he felt its claws slash his cheek, just missing his eyes by a small margin. That was too close! His fur fluffed up and he lifted himself up onto his hind legs. He swung his paws at the creature, sending it sprawling away. It seemed to be stunned at the moment. Good! This shouldn't take much longer. ღ

❖ He had to use the opportunity wisely. The warrior quickly snapped his jaws closed onto the creature's side. He heard its pained screech and let go. He jumped away as soon as he noticed the little beast wriggle itself back upright. It snarled and growled at him. He bared his teeth in return. He had to be careful. It was more than ready to bite and scratch him into oblivion. Raccoons were feisty things. ღ

❖ The raccoon wasted no time in lunging right for its enemy, eyes crazed and desperate. It was near death and was doing what it needed to survive. Forestbreeze turned quickly as furious jaws clamped down on his shoulder. He felt his bones creak at the force but the little beast was too weak to utilize its full strength. Forest was saved from another broken bone. He ripped his shoulder from its grasp and put a bit of distance between them. ღ

❖ He gritted his teeth and tanked the pain as best as he could. He's had worse anyway. The warrior didn't allow the raccoon to run or attack again before rushing forward, standing up on his hind legs, and bringing down two merciless paws onto the raccoon's noggin. It went crashing down and remained down without so much as a twitch. It had died. ღ

❖ Forestbreeze sighed and stretched his shoulder. It ached but it was manageable. He looked down at the dead creature with disdain before bending down and grabbing it by the scruff with his jaws. He was going to take it back with him as prey. Any prey was good prey. He began his walk over to his previous catch while hauling the raccoon. He needed to figure out a way to carry them both. He was a big cat. It shouldn't be too difficult... Right? ღ
