Birchpaw's Medicine Cat Ceremony

Batsong made the final preperations for the traveling herbs as she sat next to her apprentice in their med den.  She looked over to him with her little grin.  She was so proud of them, they had mastered the trait of med cat and were truly a master at the craft.

She purred a little nudging an herb pack towards them. They had mentioned earlier a med cat name for themselves and she loved what they had the idea of, Birchgaze was a great description of them, with their wide eyes and unblinking sometimes stare that seemed to sometimes look into your soul.

Batsong was used to it and loved them for it.  They were a great apprentice and she was so glad she had gotten the chance to be their mentor and teach them all she knew.  At this point however, they was nothing left she could teach them really.  In fact, if anything Birch was perhaps the one who may soon be showing her new teachings and techniques in the field.

She munched quietly on her herb pack thinking about all of this quietly to herself.

"Birch? I w-want you to know how p-proud I am of you" she meowed quietly with her little stutter.



She waited till both of them were done with the meal before standing to join him on their walk to the moonstone.

Batsong's pelt tingled with exctiment and happy energy as they arrived to mothermouth.

The cave entrance was more lit up than usual thanks to the shining moon and stars above and the 0 cloudcover as well.


"here w-we g-go" she instructed gently resting her tail on Birchpaws flank as she lead him through the dark tunnel until they got to the nice open area of the cave where the moonstone was, both of them knew the way very well having been by each others side for many meetings at this point... this time however felt even more special to her.

Her apprentice was growing up and had worked so hard to learn the ways of being a med cat. Now was a time for celebration and for joy in what they had accomplished. The two of them had an incredible bond as mentor and apprentice and she couldnt have been happier to now have them serving by her side for windclan as a full med cat.



"Bi-Birchpaw y-you have trained in the ways of the med cat and are r-ready to recive your full name. Do you promise to uphold the medicine cat code, to defend and heal your clan and to protect those around you?

Batsong couldnt help but to purr so happy that this was finally here. They deserved this so much.

Batsong nodded her happiness not hidden at all.


"Th-then by the power given to me by the stars I am g-g-giving you your full medicine cat name and title. From now on, you will be known as Birchgaze! she announced so excited.

She gave out a deep purr and glanced over to the moonstone.

"N-now Birchgaze, r-rest by the stone and l-let our ancestors guide you. Y-you can ask them any questions on anything you are unsure.
