thrushkit's apprentice ceremony

A soft dusting of snow lined the clearing the clan now called home, wind snaking through the high arching branches that lacked any meaningful coverage. The deputy shivered, missing the confines and safety of the ravine, wondering how the rest of her clan was fairing with the sudden exposure to the icy weather they normally didn't have to experience in such a capacity. As the chill passed through, Thistlemask dragged herself up on weary paws, thinking of the ceremony she was to conduct today. Finding a particularly visible spot, she called out the slightly amended summons, "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather for a clan meeting!"

Another kit that she could have sworn was the spitting image to her dear friend soon appeared, a nervously expectant look upon his face. The deputy beamed a little at the soon-to-be apprentice, feeling deep warmth towards him and his littermates due to her kin-like bond with her mother. "Thrushkit, step forward." The deputy gave the kit a moment, tail curling over her paws as she waited. "You have reached the age of six moons and are ready to become an apprentice. From now until the day you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Thrushpaw." Smiling at the tom, she continued. "Your mentor will be Eveningmoon, I trust his determination and moons of experience to teach you well."

With that, she dismissed the ceremony, allowing the new duo to become acquainted.
