Shrikestar stayed close to his mate, giving her soft words of encouragement as she went through her toughest kitting yet. Still, in the end she was okay, and so were their kits. Well, four of them were. Silently he gently nosed the stillborn kit, as if to wake her from a nap. She never woke, though, and she never would. "Robinkit," he murmured softly, his voice effected with emotion. He stood up straight thereafter though, knowing he needed to be strong. His clan was in turmoil at the moment, and it needed their leader to guide them. "We will bury her, as we bury all proud members of WindClan." He gently picked up the stillborn kit and carried her away, away from his mate, away from his clanmates, until he stepped paw on WindClan territory. He couldn't bear to bury his daughter on foreign land, no matter the circumstances. So he buried her in silence, digging with his own paws, staying out until the job was done. It felt as if he was at his lowest point: even lower than near-exile. He pushed those feelings aside, though. Coyotegrin needed him, and so did the rest of his clan. No matter what befell him, he would keep his clan safe. It was time to take them home.

Eaglekit meowed a little as he snuggled in close to his siblings and mother to keep warm. The high stones were a cold area and so coyotegrin was the only warm and safe spot right now as he fell asleep and took a nap with all his siblings around him
