❒ It was a breezy, serene day in Riverclan. After the days of constant rain, they were due for a clear-ish day. The moment that happened, Brookstone was out of the camp, eager to work out her hunting muscles. She usually caught fish but it was about time she practiced her land hunting. So, it's what she did. She even managed to catch a toad! Well, she had almost lost the springy creature but she'd rather not think about that... She still caught it okay??

❒ Brookstone was now on her way back to camp, her prized toad and a minnow she caught as an afterthought hanging from her jaws. There was a spring in her step. She was loving Leaf-Fall so far. The colors, the sounds, the smells... She wanted to take some time to appreciate it all. She had time to wander for a bit before she should return. Why not use that time to relax?

❒ So, the brown-and-white tabby slowed down her pace, eyes wandering around to each leaf that flew by. She paused for a moment to breathe in deeply. A contented look crossed her face. She wondered if Stormdance would like to go on a stroll later that day? It was a lovely time and it should be cherished, after all.

❒ As soon as those thoughts had left her, her fantasies were literally knocked out of her head. She stumbled forward with wide eyes, prey dropping onto the ground as her mouth widened in shock. What in Starclan's name?- She whipped around with narrowed eyes, tail lashing behind her. She was met with the thin face of a goose—it honked as if taunting her. It made her blood boil. She bared her teeth, fur rising and claws unsheathing in an instant. "You wanna go, ya feathered freak?! Huh??" She struck the bird hard. Her claws were unforgiving as they slashed its face. She added a few extra hits. "Take that! Hope ya really felt it!" It felt good retaliating like that. Who did it think it was?? It had completely ruined her day!

❒ Brook's smug face was instantly wiped off as the large waterfowl spread its rather intimidating wings and slammed them closed on the warrior. "ACK!" She cried out in alarm as she wriggled away, spitting feathers from her mouth along the way. "Puh!" She blinked her eyes for a second before glaring at the goose. It looked much angrier than before. She narrowed her blue eyes at it and arched her back. Well, two can play that game!

❒ Letting out a war cry, Brookstone flung herself at the goose. Using her body weight to bowl it over, she squished it to the ground, using her claws to dig into its skin so she couldn't fall off so easily. "Nice try!" she spat, looking down at the struggling bird with a cocky smirk.

❒ Brook was amused at how it struggled under her. She wasn't even the biggest cat in her clan. She snickered for only a second before she was flung off. She tumbled before coming to a stop. She groaned and peeked her eyes open. The goose was struggling to get up but it was getting there. So much for pinning it down. At least nobody was around to see her fail. She scowled and picked herself off the ground. She shook her short fur and carefully made her way over. She needed to get a hit or two in before it recovered.

❒ The moment Brookstone got over to the goose, she lunged forward and snapped her jaws down on one of its wings. Hearing its pained honk satisfied her. That was for hitting her with those ridiculous wings. But before she could leap back, the darn thing got a good hit in. She hissed as its hard beak was brought down upon the small of her back. At least it wasn't on her head again. She scrambled back immediately. She didn't want a repeat of that.

❒ She gave herself a minute to catch her breath, eyes analyzing the situation. The goose was getting weaker and still hadn't stood up fully. She could get a good hit in. She didn't want it to recover before then.

❒ With her mind made up, she rushed forward and skidded to a stop in front of the honking bird. She lifted herself onto her hind legs and brought down two merciless paws on top of the goose's head. She effectively brought it crashing to the ground. Taking that small opening, she scrambled back with a pant. She was getting more and more exhausted herself. She hoped this would be over soon. She needed to get back to camp and rest.

❒ The goose had recovered quicker than she was anticipating. Perhaps it was out of desperation and fear of complete exhaustion? She knew those feelings rather well herself.

❒ It began to honk like crazy. Her ears were hurting from all the noise. Its wings flapped and flapped as it tried to peck her with its beak. Not again! She began to scramble back but unfortunately, it caught up to her and managed to hit her with its wings instead. She tripped and grunted. That wasn't pleasant at all. She totally hated this. She quickly sprang up and turned to face her foe. She couldn't give up!

❒ The brown-and-white warrior rushed backwards before charging the feathered predator. Once at a certain distance, she leaped at it. They both went sprawling on the ground. Brook was the first to recover. She did it at the right time too seeing how she noticed the beak slamming down in her direction. She twisted herself in a way so it didn't land on her head. She grunted when she felt it attack her side. She flinched at the sudden pain but hauled herself up onto her paws. They were both looking rather tired out. She needed to end this quickly.

❒ Narrowing her eyes in concentration, Brookstone waited for the right time as the goose tried to correct itself. The moment its neck was fully exposed, she pounced. She snapped her teeth closed on its neck, holding on until it stopped moving. She held on just a little while after to make sure it had truly died. Letting go with a sigh, the molly stretched her limbs, rolling her neck to ease some of the soreness. She huffed and looked down at the creature and thought for a moment. She needed to do something with this...

❒ Brookstone was now on her way back to camp, her prized toad and a minnow she caught as an afterthought hanging from her jaws. There was a spring in her step. She was loving Leaf-Fall so far. The colors, the sounds, the smells... She wanted to take some time to appreciate it all... but that would be for another time. The goose meticulously draped on her back should be delivered posthaste. Her clan needed a good meal, after all!
