| Nightstar knew this day would come, with Duskflight being his senior, but he had wished for a little while longer with Duskflight as his warrior and council member. Of course, he wouldn't be losing his advice, and he would still be there for him, but losing his most senior warrior was still something that hit the young leader hard. Nightstar padded out from his den, and up onto the Jaggedrock, forcing himself into neutrality as he called for his clan once more. "All cats old enough to silently stalk in the shadows, gather in the shadow of Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!" ______________________________________  Nightstalker Tier 5 Warrior of Shadowclan

| Mothcatcher had happened to hear Nightstar's call as she returned to camp with a toad in her maw. Her tail rippled with curiosity as her mind raced through all the potential ideas on just whose ceremony it could be, punctuated by her placing the toad at the fresh-kill pile. The cinnamon-swirled molly then took her place among the gathering cats, looking towards her leader with a particular interest, before surveying the growing crowd. She took in the sight of each of her Clanmates, and their appearances, but not making any particular notes to start any conversation. At the call for a meeting, Duskflight opened his eyes. His body nested inside the medicine cat's den, and he stretched to rise, careful to not trip over his still-healing leg. It had gotten a lot better with Fuzzybelly's care — though it still caused a lot of trouble for the tom. Deep inside, he could tell what this was about. With no cats in sight seemed of age for their ceremony, Duskflight could only assume it was his own. I must ask, however, is it your wish to join the ranks of our elders?" Nightstar meowed, hoping that Duskflight would change his mind then. For a moment, he hesitated to reply. His mouth has widened in a supposed, confident manner, to give out a clear answer of acceptance — yet a part of him inside wanted him to decline. No. I asked for this in the first place. And it took him a moment later to agree. "It is." And his eyebrows seemed to lower, with a hidden sense of guilt. Beneath his eyes, as he just barely squinted them, Duskflight gazed upon Nightstar. | Leopardsun had come back to camp, depositing a recent catch on the fresh-kill pile, to find a ceremony underway: its subject wasn't one of ShadowClan's kits or apprentices, but Duskflight, one of the older warriors as well as a member of Nightstar's council. Quietly, so as not to disturb the proceedings, she joined toward the back of her gathered Clanmates to watch. She couldn't say she would have guessed he would retire, but she also couldn't say it was entirely a surprise- he was older, and injured. | ❒ Forestbreeze was hoping that this day wouldn't come but yet, it came. Duskflight, one of the most honorable and respected members of the clan, was retiring. Sure, the dark-furred tom was on the older side but he seemed to have endless strength and energy when he served the clan. However, it seemed like the days have caught up to Dusk.
❒ A solemn look was present on the grey-and-white warrior's face. He sat amongst his clanmates as they all watched Nightstar perform the elder ceremony for Duskflight. As he watched it proceed, he couldn't help but let his mind wander to the time he'd first met Duskflight. In fact, Duskflight had been the first clanmate he'd ever met. The older tom had comforted his grieving self. He'd given him hope. He'd kickstarted his road to healing and understanding. He still looked up to the tom after all this time. He always will, even when said tom will now reside in the elder's den. He'll always hold a special place in Forest's heart along with Ice, Rat, Frost, and Honey.

| Swiftheart heard her brothers call and had a good guess as to what this meeting was about. She saw her mate limping out from the med den and went over to his side ready to support him if he needed.
She sat down next to him and looked up as her brother began the meeting. Even from the first couple of words her initial guess she knew was confirmed. Her mate was retiring from warrior life. She was happy for him, he had served the clan so well and he deserved this retirement. She purred softly and glanced over to him. He was looking to Nightstar with apologetic eyes. She understood but wished she could make him feel better, let him know that this was okay.
She rested her tail on his back in an attempt to try and comfort and be there for him. No matter what rank he held she would always be there for him and would always love and care for him.
"Thank you, for all of your service as warrior to this clan, for being there for me and for others" she whispered quietly to him ______________________________________

| "Then it is my honor to acknowledge your request. ShadowClan honors your Selflessness and Liveliness throughout the moons, and we wish you continue to have many peaceful moons of rest." Nightstar leaped from his place on the rock and padded towards Duskflight, pressing his head against the older toms before stepping away and letting the rest of his clanmates greet the now elder.
