Steps of Pine [closed]

High was the marbled tail in the air that led the duo deeper into Shadowclan's territory. They both had finally earned their warrior names, and it was to surprise that Mothcatcher had gotten hers first. Even from when they had sparred, she had known just how dedicated Sablestrike had been to learning the ways of being a warrior. Tradition had been bestowed upon them both, and now, they got to reap the rewards. "Hopefully, we don't run into any predators, you know?" She purred behind her shoulder. Truth be told, the feline wasn't in any particular mood to fight. If anything, she simply wanted to be able to catch her prey and return to camp as soon as possible.

As they made it to the pine grove, Mothcatcher slowed her pace a bit. It let her match her pace with her clanmate, and there was a look of general curiosity on her maw. "How has warrior life been treating you so far, Sablestrike?" She asked. Even if they could go straight to hunting, it still didn't mean completely ignoring any formalities.

Mothcatcher always seemed to be one step ahead of him. She was younger than him, but had received her warrior name before him, and conducted her rite before him too. If he didn't catch up to her soon, she might take his future role of deputy from away. Still, having any hard feelings toward the she-cat was impossible. Something about her always seemed to put Sablestrike in a good mood. That was appreciated, especially now with what was happening to Snowfoot. Any distraction from the reality of that situation was welcome. "Hopefully we do, I'd love to see you in action." Mothcatcher had thoroughly surprised him in their spar. Sablestrike had expected the spar to be a quick and easy win, but Mothcatcher had put up more of a fight than he had anticipated, even with the difference in their battle experience. It would be an absolute delight to see how she handled herself in a real fight.

Till this point, Sablestrike had just followed his clanmate, not paying attention to where they were headed. When they finally reached the Pine Grove, he couldn't help but perk up a little bit. Every spar he had with warriors had taken place here, it was where he had first been trained as well. "It's nice, being able to roam around the territory without an escort is pretty fun." Truthfully, that was all he could really say. His first outing as a warrior hadn't ended well, earning him a scolding from Nightstar and an angry clanmate. "What about you? You've been a warrior longer than me, got anything to share?"
