The anxiety she had felt over her identity and Shadowclan's temporary occupation in their camp was something fierce; unable to cross camp without being intensely fearful of the cats she had once fought, consistent looks being thrown over her shoulder when she was present. As such, when Stormsong offered to go hunting, Thistlemask in an uncharacteristically strong display of enthusiasm was practically bolting out of the camp, allowing him to take lead once she felt she was a safe enough distance from the camp. Only out here was she able to relax; finding the silver tom's joking nature reassuring that she was still a member of the clan herself.

At his challenge she smirked, tail waving in observable excitement. "Youre-!" It was abruptly cut short as the tom leapt in front of her, bearing the brunt of the hit from a badger neither had seen or scented until it was almost too late. "Stormsong!" The molly cried out, eyes opening wide in terror, claws darting out immediately. She ran to him, horrified by the way he had been so effortlessly thrown, glad to see he was still breathing despite the tumble.

The calico spun to face the bicoloured beast, teeth bared and a growl emanating low and strong from her chest. Thistlemask was not fond of her rogue heritage, but the ruthless and desperate way in which they fought was something she appreciated in moments against predators like this. She was hesitant to use her training despite this, and ducked around the badger, connecting her teeth with its tail and yanking as hard as she could, neck burning with the effort, pulling it off its feet.

She grit her teeth as Stormsong's attack only seemed to further wound and disadvantage the tom, who seemed to be plagued by a string of bad luck just today. "Go and get help, now. You seem a bit addicted to hurting yourself further otherwise," The molly squared up to the badger, eyes trained on it as she took careful notice of its attention being fully directed at her. You fought a fox alone, you were fine. This is fine, She repeated the words in her head over and over, praying that Stormsong would take her directions or they'd get lucky and be stumbled upon.

Racing forward, Thistlemask raked her claws across the offending badger's face, blood flying under the sharp tip. In the moment before reaction she sunk her teeth into the soft spot where its neck met its shoulder, jerking as hard as she could until fur and flesh tore away with her. The warrior spat the putrid fur to the floor, hesitant to check her clanmate's position, once more praying that they'd be come upon by a complete patrol-- deeply uncertain on how long either of them could hold out against a predator.

Mottlerose's steps carried her throughout the territory, a desperate attempt to clear her mind as the intent. However, there was a rouse of voices that caught the tortoiseshell's attention. Distinct, ones that she recognized instantly. Then the scent of blood, something wrong, hit her nose. Widened amber eyes only hastened her pace as she now had one singular goal in mind: Ensure that Stormsong and Thistlemask were okay.

It took a quick mind to assess the field in front of her, and the small molly easily was able to see. Stormsong seemed on his last leg, a badger hissing its head off and now seeming ready to go after Thistlemask. A sneer was quick to ripple on the side of the deputy's maw, and given the side of the predator, the feline was ready to use her size to an advantage. Flipping herself onto her side, the deputy launched herself beneath the badger, her claws unsheathed and ready to tear appart the underbelly of the beast. "Absolutely not, beast!"

They struck their target, and while it coated her tortoiseshell pelt in its blood, the sound of pain was like a song to her ears. She hadn't launched herself with enough strength to get all the way to the other side, leaving her as easy target, but the way it seemed unable to move would surely work to her advantage. She'd deal with both Thistlemask and Stormsong once danger no longer loomed.

Mottlerose used Belly Rake, dealing 20 damage to the badger and taking 5 recoil damage. It used 25 stamina.

Nightstalker wasn't far behind, having joined Mottlerose to walk with her silently, he too had a mind to clear but that didn't seem possible now. When Thunderclans deputy hastened her pace, so did he, the acrid tang of blood reaching his nose as they got close, and the screeches of battle hitting the tom's ears. Nightstalker nearly stopped in his pawsteps when he saw Thistlemask, almost recoiling away. He didn't exactly want to help the she-cat who had helped kill his mentor and the queen who he thought was another mother. But if he refused to help, that would only be punishing the warrior with a paw at death's door, and Mottlerose who was fighting for their lives.

They didn't deserve to suffer, because of his grudge. Sighing harshly, Nightstalker let out his caterwaul as he launched toward their enemy. He had fought foxes, and countless owls, and stared death in the face as he stood to protect his clan-mates. He knew the feeling of hope soaring in his chest as he heard the vengeful yowls of his senior warriors who came to his aid. Nightstalker's claws unsheathed as he reared back on his back paws, his front paws slamming down on the badger's head with a dull thunk.

She watched the badger strike out at her clanmate, and she shrieked loudly again, horrified at the blood. The molly met its beady stare with a cold one of her own, deciding right then and there if she was to die to get Stormsong to safety, she would; he had taken the first hit to save her, after all. She took a moment to think, carefully stalking in front of the injured warrior, tail firmly bristled and teeth bared, hoping to put a safe distance in between them. As she did so, a familiar tortoiseshell leapt at the predator, followed by Nightstalker, and then Brookpaw.

Thistlemask was no fool, she heard the begrudging sigh, but she couldn't lie about how grateful she was for his aid in this present moment despite the bad blood. She was deeply relieved to see the warriors weakening the badger further, knowing that it would either die or flee very soon. Spitting out what remained of the fur in her mouth the calico threw herself at the nearest foreleg, clawing and biting until blood soaked her alabaster chest fur, jumping back away when her muscles ached. If that didn't incapacitate it, it wouldn't be long until it was completely done.

There was a furious vengeance in her gaze as the badger made its strike at yet another cat. It wasn't often that the molly felt the urge to display her status, or strength, or anger in any plainly visible way. But the way her pelt fluffed to make her seem much larger, the way each step had a menacing growl or hiss behind it, the way her lip curled in absolute disgust? It was a rare sight for sure, and one that truly only ever resulted when her family was threatened. Stormsong was practically a son to her, with Thistlemask being her sister for all the Stars could care. Not to mention, there was a stronger burning in her chest seeing her daughter join in the battle, and she had to keep herself from shouting for Briarpaw to keep out of it.

She was a training warrior - one that would have to learn the ways of battle at some point. If anything, it was best for it to happen while there were so many other cats, that the chance for her to get hurt was slim. But nevertheless, it only further allowed the fighting flame that burned so fiercely within the molly to grow. Much like Nightstalker had done previously, the molly had no hesitation as she roared up onto her hind legs. Having been beneath the creature not too long before, it gave her the perfect side-angle, especially as it had went for the Shadowclan deputy. Though, instead of going with her paws to daze the creature, her jaw aimed sharply for that critical position on its neck.

All too softly did the creature shriek its retaliation as Mottlerose ended its life, and the she-cat finally let go once she knew it truly was gone. They could've let it retreat, but that would be just one more angry predator still lurking in their territory.

The badger has been killed!

Once she had taken a few moments to breathe, immediately, the molly whipped around to assess the other cats. "For Starclan's sake, never challenge a predator of that size on your own. Get help immediately if you even encounter one and there's so few of you, and don't try to pull that 'it just showed up' fluff on my tail, because I know for a fact that you were on your last leg, mister." Her tongue was sharp and quick to reprimand, and for the most part, her words were aimed at Stormsong. Partially at Thistlemask as well, but there was certainly her son that they were aimed at. Though many of them were covered in blood, with the bottom half of the tortoiseshell practically covered in it, scent told her which had belonged to the predator and which belonged to a cat.

After her words were done, though, the molly was quick to turn into her typical stance of motherly concern. She pushed a worried nose against the side of Stormsong's head, sighing into the patterned fur. "You worry me sometimes, you know." It was quiet, soft. Though, her head was quick to swivel to find her daughter nearby. "Briarpaw, will you walk with Stormsong to Fawnshine and Eggdrop's den? He definitely needs taken care of, and I want you to get looked over too. Just to make sure." Delegation had began. After all, this wasn't some little scrap with a goose like she had dealt with in times past. "Thistlemask, you'll come with me and Nightstalker to the medicine den. I know it got a good bite out of you, and Thunderclan isn't about to have Shadowclan's deputy get an infected wound on our doorstep when we have the ability to prevent it." Hopefully, that'd be the end of it.

Nightstalker couldn't get away fast enough as the badger wrapped its gnarly jaws around his forelimb. The young deputy had never felt a badger bite, and by Starclan it hurt! He felt his leg creak under the pressure, fearing that his limb would shatter within its jaws, but thankfully it had released his leg before it could do just that. Shortly after though, Mottlerose was quick to intervene, swiftly ending its life before any further damage could be dealt. Nightstalker let out a soft sigh of relief, one that was short-lived as Thistlemask was delegated to support him alongside Mottlerose.

Breathing heavily through his nose he squeezed his eyes shut as he shoved down his grievances for the time being. "Let's just get going. I know that I've now got some duties of my own to deal with." Nightstalker grumbled, struggling to his paws briefly as he limped over to Mottlerose.
