Anger Unresolved [Closed]

Today Crimsonflame was patrolling the border with Driftcloud. It sucked that he had to have a warrior with him at all times, but at the same time, maybe it was a good thing? It certainly could have been a lot worse. He shivered at the thought of what could have happened if it was still Bloodstar as leader. Not only would he have been killed, but so would his kits. Knowing that, he really couldn't complain.

They were nearing the Fallen Oak when Crimsonflame caught sight of a black pelt. Narrowing his eyes, he moved forward to investigate.

'Invasion Dice' :

"Ah, my apologies." Called a voice, a pleasant pitch to his voice as they revealed themselves from the shadows.

"I'm still learning the new borders, the scents of the forest are quite strong so it's a bit troublesome picking out where the borders change over."

Nightstalker dipped his head to both the Skyclan cats, his steely amber gaze piercing as he silently sized both cats up, while making eye contact of course.

"Nightstalker of Shadowclan, it's a pleasure to meet you both." The young deputy mewed, his eyes flickering back to Crimsonflame on the occasion, though not often enough to be considered weird or suspicious. Something about the tom was bothering the deputy... they were oddly familiar.

Darkspirit had been antisocial as ever for moons, but his sister just wouldn't let him slip into the background of Thunderclan society. Some days he was grateful and other days he was annoyed, it just depended on his mood. Speaking of which, he was in one. He'd been intending to patrol alone as he always did before he picked up the scent of a Shadowclanner. He nearly abruptly turned the other way when he caught scent of some Skyclan cats... then heard voices. Ears pricked forward and his fur bristled. His pupils widened and his claws flexed in his paws before he forced them to be sheathed and made his fur lie flat.

Darkspirit padded forward, still quite furious that Shadowclan cats were allowed on Thunderclan territory at all... but he was certainly less happy with Skyclan cats. They had a lot to answer for, as far as he was concerned. The duo-toned tom stepped easily and willingly into full view and eyed the Skyclan cats that were so close to the Thunderclan border. The Fallen Oak had been a gift to Thunderclan from his father... did they not know that?

"There is absolutely no reason to apologize Nightstalker." Darkspirit spoke smoothly and with little emotion despite wanting to flay the Skyclan cats and leave their skinned corpses on the oak for everyone to see. "The fallen oak belongs to Thunderclan and Skyclan is aware. Do you have business with us?" His tone was not unkind in the slightest, but sounded genuinely interested in what they might have to say.

He didn't want to make the comparison of keeping his emotions as hidden as well as Dawnhawk had been able to.

Crimsonflame narrowed his eyes as the cats revealed themselves. So, the ShadowClan deputy, huh? There was a calmness laced in his voice as he spoke, and the tom forced his fur to lie flat. Nightstalker didn't know him, clearly. Maybe it would be best things stayed that way. But at the same time, part of him wanted to be known. But with Driftcloud there, he couldn't stir up trouble. So he simply dipped his head. "Crimsonflame. The......pleasure is mine." Oh how he loathed saying those words.

Darkspirit showed up, and he met his gaze evenly. "We are on our own side of the border. And in any case, you only have this territory because Briarstar has made no move to take it back. My father's decisions hold no weight as far as I am concerned."

"Yes, I was just made aware of it recently, in fact. I've still a few things to deal with and manage before I can address the things I need to with Froststar, unfortunately. But thank you for the sympathies, Shadowclan will reunite someday soon I hope." Nightstalker meowed, turning his gaze away from Crimsonflame almost purposefully, so he would have an excuse to not stare at him with scrutiny. "I will have the time to thank Briarstar personally as well, but I'd like to thank you as well for dealing with them. I know that this must be a big adjustment for you as well."
