 | | My Feedback from the Staff Survey! | |
Hi everyone! I wanted to give a quick overview of the feedback I recently received on the staff survey and share my thoughts regarding it, so below I have included the charts/graphs and comments, as well as a few words of my own about each. - “Expectations”:
 Overall, not terrible here! Everyone seems mostly satisfied with me settling into my new role as administrator, but I’ll always be working to make it even better ^^
- “Social/RP Activity”:
  The social activity graph is about where I would like to see it! I have been working on my activity over the past few weeks, and hopefully with me finally graduating I will have more free time and will be able to post much more frequently. So over the next few months I hope to be on a better posting schedule!
- “Specific Comments”:
  For the most part, these comments have been okay. The only one that really needs addressing from me is about proactivity- I promise that Down and I have been working to make sure staff roles are more structured and easy to understand, both for the team itself and the site as a whole. From there, we will be working to better general site mechanics and systems. There are some bigger projects as well as some smaller things we have coming up, which will hopefully go smoothly!
- “General Admin Comments”:
  The main one I want to address from here is about leadership within the admin/staff teams. I know that a lot of things staff does are considered “behind the scenes” and not everyone gets to see exactly what we are working on all the time (which we are working on improving through more general transparency). However, Down and I were a little confused about what we might be able to do to further behave in a more “adminly” manner. We will keep the feedback in mind and work towards that, but if anyone has any specific ideas/thoughts to help us understand what we can do better, it would be greatly appreciated! In regards to doing things with the comments and suggestions - I promise that everyone on the team reads and takes to heart all the feedback and thoughts that we get in our various forms. There is often not much we can do except take the advice and feedback, and consider it in the future. However, with this feedback in mind, we are going to out our heads together and work on a way to publicly acknowledge the anon comments/suggestions! We are actually currently compiling a condensed version of the post-sitewide feedback for the team to review and comment on, and potentially share any relevant information with the userbase. Be on the lookout for that!
I would be remiss not to acknowledge the fact that there were several submissions to this survey that were completely inappropriate. They were, for lack of a better term, harassment and bullying- not only towards myself, but other individuals on the team as well as the group as a whole. There are better ways to communicate concerns and comments than name-calling, slurs, insulting character, and bullying. The comments that included such content were deleted from the survey prior to me writing this address, but they were read by myself and everyone on the team. Again, there are better ways to communicate than that, and in the future, I’d like it to be clear that any submissions like that will be deleted. Trolling, name-calling, and bullying are not tolerated. If there is anything that I missed, you have comments, or would like to talk with me about anything you see above, please feel free to comment here or DM me about it!
