Myrtlepaw's Warrior Ceremony

It was evening and the clan had returned from patrols. To shake things up a bit, Bloodstar leaped onto the Tallbranch. It definitely wasn't because he didn't want to get up early the next morning when it was freezing noooo.

"Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather beneath the Tallbranch for a clan meeting!" He called out. Another warrior ceremony.

The chill of moonhigh was beginning to set in, and Myrtlepaw had settled down from his day in order to enjoy the company of the Clan before going to bed. However, upon hearing Bloodstar's call, he rose to his paws. The words from his moonstone still played in his head, and his whiskers twitched as he settled down towards the back of the crowd. There's no way it will be my ceremony... He thought to himself, his gaze watching the mighty tom upon his throne.

"Myrtlepaw, come forward. I, Bloodstar, call upon our warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn. Myrtlepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and to protect and defend your clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Ceremonial words spoken, hopefully stirring excitement in the young apprentice. That warriors den was going to be a little cramped, but what did it matter when it was freezing outside anyway?

The fluffy-pelted tom lifted his head in surprise as Bloodstar called out his name. It was his ceremony? Standing straighter and taller, he padded forward to the front of the crowd, his gaze never leaving the other tom. After all, he had to appear strong. The ancient words spoken to him lit a small flame inside of his heart, and with a solid nod, he confirmed. "I do."

"Then by the powers of Starclan, I give you your warrior name, Myrtleturtle. Skyclan honors your steadfastness and loyalty." He dropped down from the Tallbranch and rested his chin on the new warrior's head. "Congratulations, Myrtleturtle." Two names that rhymed, Burrfur and Myrtleturtle. He was losing his mind, clearly. His age was catching up to him.

Upon hearing his new name, he couldn't help but blink. Myrtleturtle surely sounded like it was more fitting for a Riverclan cat than a Skyclan one, but, he trusted Bloodstar upon naming him properly. Dipping his head to the leader, the young tom stood proud. "Thank you, Bloodstar."
