Hailpaw tried to remain focused on the dog, but it felt like his lungs were burning. He was getting tired, and their dog was still up and seemed to be shaking off its daze. He had to do something or it would find another cat to sink its teeth in, one of the options being him. His claws sunk deeper, trying to render anything unusable and get the dog to flee or crumple. He didn't feel like he was doing much damage though...
