two birds among stones [closed for Reaper]

Brisk breezes brought Leaffall rains down on the forest. Damp leaves swirled in the wind and down the river separating RiverClan and ThunderClan. No storm coming today, an elder off-handedly mentioned to Cloverheart while Egretstorm came by to pick up some herbs earlier that morning. Only light rain. Cats with creaky bones had an uncanny ability to detect such things; an ability she was rather grateful for. Despite her name, she wasn't very fond of storms. Very much not. They were exceedingly dangerous, if her own experiences were anything to go by. Too much water in the wrong place could spell disaster. The grey tabby shook her head. That time of year was coming again, yes, but she couldn't spend her days getting anxious about it. ‘No one had even heard of such a thing before that. What happened that year has to be rare.’ Rare, but devastating. Anyway, today she'd volunteered to trade some herbs with ThunderClan's medicine cat in Cloverheart's stead, as the young she-cat seemed to have far too much on her paws as of late. In her mouth she held two leaf pouches filled with herbs she didn't know the names of, even if they hadn't already been completely contained when she picked them up. The maple leaves used as the wrap were without mar except for where she'd made a few holes at the tops with her teeth. Medicine cats had some skill.

Upon reaching the agreed meeting place, Sunningrocks, the stocky warrior stretched and took a good look around. She'd been told Dovefrost was a fluffy white tom. He should be easy to spot, but despite her searching - with her eyes only, she wouldn't dare cross the border - Egretstorm couldn't see him. Perhaps she was simply the first here. Though the stones would've made for a great place to lounge as she waited any other day, they were somewhat sticky from the overhanging mist and so she simply sat with the leaf pouches between her front paws. She could practically feel the humid air condensing on her pelt. The RiverClan warrior hadn't spoken to a cat outside her clan in a long time, so perhaps she could learn how ThunderClan was getting along since the Asylum's collapse.

Due to recent events Dovefrost found himself working over time. Taking care of Starlingflare and his injury, Moonpaw's disappearance.. Not to mention Batbite's situation still hadn't ever improved. Everything seemed to pile up all at once.. He had been so lost in everything he nearly forgot his herb swap with Cloverheart. He quickly grabbed the bundles wrapped in large Ivy leaves. An assortment of herbs tucked away inside. The large white tom didn't really remember all that was inside, but he was sure when he looked at his store later he would remember. All he knew that it was stuff he could afford to trade away.

As he approached the Sunning Rocks, he paused. There was an unknown cat up there waiting.. Were they waiting on him? He made sure to scan the surrounding area before noting the bundles the cat held. A small huff escaped him. So she sent a replacement.. That was fine.. He could deal with that.

He pushed forward, finally meeting up with the Riverclan warrior. He placed down his bundles carefully before dipping his head in greeting. "Hello, I'm Dovefrost. I suppose you are Cloverheart's replacement for our meeting today?" He asked, his tone flat as ever but trying to be polite.
