Cleaning House:

As per usual, life threw plenty of curveballs and the last moon had been a bit of a mess. Not as much as previous moons but it wasn't all peaceful for the warrior. He tried his hardest to trudge on and take back control of his life, perhaps even get it back to normality... somewhat. It's why he was currently leading Waterlily to where he last saw a fox roaming around the territory with the intent of permanently removing it from their home. She had been the first warrior he saw that didn't seem to be terribly busy. Food was slowly starting to get harder to catch and they really didn't need competition nor an enemy to hinder them. Kestrel was hoping that he'd be able to do this sort of thing more often. It was a good distraction and certainly helped the clan as a whole. He'll probably take more experienced warriors of course but perhaps some of the younger cats could come if he gathered a good patrol.

"Alright. There it is! On my count we'll both surprise it and hopefully kill it without many problems." The tom slowly began to ready his haunches to dash and bowl over the predator from the hiding spot they'd taken up. The silence only lasted for a few moments before he believed it to be time to strike. "Three... two... one... go!" he yowled as he sprinted from his position and leaped at the fox, effectively making it crash to the ground. Good! It hadn't suspected a thing. The tom hissed and grit his teeth as he felt his right front limb get encased in a cage of sharp teeth. Dear StarClan! The tabby tom managed to rip it free and he leaped back, mindful to not put too much pressure on his leg. He should've been more careful. Thankfully it wasn't broken but it could've been. Still, that didn't mean that it didn't hurt a lot. He kept his pain to himself, determined to jump in again once Waterlily got a go at it.

Waterlily had nothing to do, so Kestrelswoop asking her to go fight a fox with him sounded nice enough. She got up and followed him, waiting till they got to the fox. The walk was farther than she thought it was going to be, but she was okay with that. She liked walks anyway, they helped clear her head. She also like the beautiful smell of flowers in the wind and watching as the leave were beginning to change color. The color of the changing leaves always amazed her.

Eventually, they got to the spot were the fox was. "Okay," she whispered. She stayed as quiet as a den mouse until he finished the countdown and then she ran up towards the fox. She leaped at it after it injured Kestrelswoop and she tore some of it's flesh off when she slid down the side of it.

The brown and white tabby tom nodded a thanks at the she-cat as she dealt a harsh injury to the fox on his behalf. He wasted no time and struck the beast with his unsheathed paws. Just for good measure, he struck it more times. That seemed to really irritate the fox as it launched itself at his and grabbed him by the scruff. It shook him around and then threw him. He landed with a hiss. That certainly didn't help his injured leg. The whole world spun but he didn't give in. He was going to try and recover fast but it would be a struggle. Even from his sorry position on the ground, he could see the fox weakening. He prayed that Waterlily would give it her all. They were so close!
