Red Lights [Closed]

The sun was starting to set in the distance as a single Thunderclan warrior moved along the border, yellow eyes scanning the area around him every so often. Starlingflare wasn't really on a patrol, not an assigned one anyway. It was something he was doing himself, taking time to be alone to hunt and check borders on his own. Of course nothing interesting has happened yet.. but he was determined to see that changed.

Dilute ears perked up as he heard movement in the distance. It was faint, but it was there. His gaze scanned the Thunderpath checking for any potential monsters coming but he didn't see or hear anything from it, but rather across, on the Shadowclan side of the border. Oh? Was there a cat over there? Eyes remained locked on the other clan's territory, watching, waiting for a cat to appear.. Maybe he could make things interesting. This was certainly the chance to make something happen.

Marshpaw walked through Shadowclan's territory, she was out alone, she felt somewhat ignored by her mentor. But that's okay. She met some cats that can help her... train, yep, train! That's what she wants them for. She headed towards the direction of the Thunderpath. For no specific reason, just that she hadn't been there much and she thought it was so interesting.

Pushing past the bushes, the black and white she-cat put a paw on the path, it was cold. Colder than the air around it. She blinked up. She turned her head towards the direction of an interesting scent and found herself staring at an older tabby. Probably a warrior. Definitely from Thunderclan. Marshpaw tilted her head. It was kind of creepy, but he wasn't trespassing or anything, so she just stared, calmly, oddly calmly. The cat didn't look like it was going to hurt her but she decided to let the cat do any introducing before she said anything. She sat down, not breaking eye-contact, and stared.

Yellow eyes locked onto odd colored ones. Starlingflare felt an anger bubble inside of him. He didn't like her stare. He didn't like the way she was looking at him. Normally he was fine with any and all attention but he didn't like hers. Ears folded back as he listened closely for any monsters, before he launched himself over the Thunderpath, tackling the apprentice, teeth snapping at her to deal damage.

Marshpaw noticed a change in expression in the warrior's stare, her ears flicked back when he flick his own back. She backed up into the bushes behind her but she couldn't run away. A grey tabby pelt flew over the Thunderpath, towards her. She could only stare, wait until he attacked her. She was pushed over, onto the ground and he started snapping at her. She was stunned for a moment, but recovered. She needed to attack back, in a way that would leave him a big reminder of their encounter. Slicing ears might be easy but nothing that would stick on someone's mind, eyes, however... She raised her claw, trying to avoid getting bitten, twisting and turning until...

She felt her claws slice through something strangely squishy.

She stared at where her claw was, right at the eye. She pressed her claws deeper into it, narrowing her eyes, feeling blood trickle down her claws, paws and front leg. She held it there, baring her teeth in an off-putting smile. She had gotten him right where he was vulnerable. She managed to shuffle out of the tom's grip, letting her claws out of the warrior's eye. She backed away from him, staring calmly, not bothered about the blood on her paw. He was bound to strike again, but she was prepared this time. "Maybe you shouldn't go around attacking random apprentices." She wasn't going to bother about using her 'kit voice' this cat wasn't going to fall into her trap. Or maybe he already did?

A searing hot pain filled the right side of his face, red filled half of his vision. Panic, Pain filled him as he backed away from the apprentice for a momenta sharp yowl leaving him from the sheer amount of pain he was feeling. Gasps and shaky breaths were leaving him as his body tried to adjust to the pain he was feeling. His paw coming to his eye as he rubbed it trying to get his vision back regardless of how bad it hurt but no matter how much he tried, all he could see right now was a dulling red.

A sharp yellow eye turned to the apprentice as soon as she spoke. Anger replacing the panic and the pain he was feeling. His lips drew back in a snarl, not caring about the blood that ran down his face. "And Apprentices shouldn't be out on their own." He growled out, approaching the apprentice with a dark look on his face. One thing was for sure, he hated this apprentice even more now. The Thunderclan warrior leapt at the apprentice pinning her to the ground.

Starlingflare used Leap and Hold dealing dealing 8 damage, -15 Stamina.

Marshpaw glared daggers into the warrior's remaining eye, raising a paw and hissing, preparing to attack again. Her tail puffed up, in an attempt to look bigger. It didn't seem to be working, as the warrior continued approaching, blood dripping from his eye. She could barely react in time and was pinned to the ground.

She was stunned for a moment, blinking away her terrified expression, returning to a calm one. "You're the one that crossed the border, mister smart Thunderclan... rat. You can't tell me, who was doing absolutely nothing to hurt you, what to do." She flicked her tail, hitting his back legs to annoy him. "You know what? You deserve your eye wound, I'm the innocent one here." She struggled under the pin. "You're going to run back to camp and cry like a kit, aren't you? You're angry that you got hit at a weak point by an apprentice, aren't you? Hehe, I didn't know Thunderclan was so weak at heart..." Marshpaw teased the tom, aware of the consequence but really not caring, her clan would see her as the victim, anyway. After all, it was self defence, of course, she never meant to do any real damage. "You were perfectly capable of defending yourself! After this, you're gonna run back to camp and cry about getting your eye damaged by a Shadowclan cat, an apprentice at that. But I get it, you're probably too 'high and mighty' to admit it was an apprentice. You're just a kit, a mousebrained kit. Aren't you?" She didn't care that she might get thrown into a tree or something, this cat would be upset with her and that made her satisfied. "You know I'm right."

Starlingflare growled as he dug his claws deeper into her fur, keeping her pinned to the ground. "I can tell you what to do all I want. After all I may have one injury but you are going to be the one leaving here with your life on the line." His single eye narrowed.

His eye looked to her throat for a second almost tempted to bite into her throat and end it all right here right now, but he controlled the urge. He would just leave her with a lesson she would never forget. He dragged his claws down a bit to deal more damage but to still keep her pinned in place. "You talk to much, you need to learn when to keep your mouth shut." He growled out.

Starlingflare continued leap and hold -8 damage, -15 Stamina.

Marshpaw winced, feeling warm red blood run down her white chest. She was feeling light, her struggling becoming weaker. The patchy she-cat tried to remain calm, through the pain. Grinning. Her tail flicks became harder. "Hehe... willing to put my life on the line? You... really are pathetic..." She struggled to keep her eyes open. "Fine... let's play the... silent game." She twisted, attempting to turn around. When she did, she tried to push him off, but she failed, causing her to slump down again with a grunt. She couldn't give up, not yet. She could still... keep going. She flicked her tail even harder, she felt weak under the warrior.

Marshpaw attempted to use Duck and Twist and... failed. Dealing -3 HP (Starlingflare) and -5 SP (Marshpaw). She remains pinned for one turn.

Starlingflare tightened his grip as soon as he felt the apprentice trying to escape. He wasn't going to let her leave without some major damage. He growled out, before shoving her further into the ground. His claws digging in to her skin more before finally stepping off the apprentice. "Go crying back to your clan now." He knew that she had no more energy to fight. As much as he wanted to kill her, he wouldn't. She would serve as a lesson.
