No Time like Snow Time {closed}

Today would be Herbo Fedora's first time out of the nursery. His SkyClan daughter, Sparrowkit, was born from Adderflare, a she-cat he liked well enough. She'd become pregnant before he met, and subsequently fell in love with, Ashstorm. But that didn't mean Himbo Bob liked Adderflare any less. Some bright blue irises in his jaws, accompanied by feathers of an owl he'd not so eagerly killed (turns out, owls don't like sharing their feathers. Talk about rude.) and two shiny pebbles sitting on his head. He balanced them delicately and walked slowly. "Adder...blare! I brought you gifts! :3" He mewed, titling his head to drop the smooth, white rocks, and gently placed the feathers and flowers underneath them, so they wouldn't blow away.

Grinning like an absolute idiot, he peaked into the nursery and soon spotted his darling daughter. "Ferbo!" Himbo Bob cried in delight, purring fiercely. He nuzzled his daughter, still grinning widely. "Did you sleep well? Do you want a badger ride? Or maybe play in the snow? It's cold, so be careful!" His voice was heavy due to his intense purring and he sat down in case his little Sparrow wanted a ride. With a mischievous smirk, he whispered, "I can show you how to make a really good snowball!" Himbo Bob's white whiskered quivered, and his blue eyes were filled with adoration. Ah, the joys of fatherhood.

Adderflare curled around her young kit, rabbit pelt offering the warmth that her peltless half could not. Not that Sparrowkit needed it, of course; her fur was thick enough to ward out the snow. But Adderflare had been told that she was supposed to take care of this child, and keeping the cold away from her seemed like a good place to start. She soon spotted Himbob at the mouth of the nursery. Father or not, she wrapped her tail protectively around her kit and prepared a warning growl. Her task was soon forgotten, however, when she spotted the 'gifts' he'd brought for her. Feathers, some flowers and some rocks. The flowers were a bit in poor taste, she thought. She couldn't smell, no need to rub it in. But maybe they would look nice... Ah! There. Irises nestled snugly behind the rabbit pelt's ears, she looked at the rest of the stuff. She preferred her trophies to be from animals she'd killed herself, but nevertheless she placed the feathers between the fibres of her nest. It was quickly amassing a large selection of feathers. Not really knowing what to do with the rocks, she placed them next to her next. Maybe Sparrowkit could... play with them. or something. Speaking of.

She turned back to her kit. Himbob was affectionately nuzzling it. She knew Himbob to be harmless, but she stood close to her daughter with claws unsheathed all the same. She trusted him, but not that much. "If you're going anywhere, I'm going too," she rasped. Maybe some play would be good for Sparrowkit. Teach her young, get her active, make her a deadlier warrior.

Fedora— Sparrowkit, as her mother and the other queens had called her— couldn’t contain her excitement as Himbo Bob peeked into the nursery.
“Bobpa!” She cried, scrambling clumsily to her paws to playfully bat at her father’s thick fur. Adderflare wasn’t much fun to play with but Bobpa always knew the best games. Fedora looked up, reflecting adoration back at him.
“Can we go outside today? Please?” She asked, tilting her head back to glance up at her mother. She wanted to play with Bobpa but Adderflare had the final say. She always did what she was told.

As Herbo Fedora scrambled over to him, a great big grin crossed his maw. She'd gotten so big! As the apple of his eye turned to to ask Adderflare if she could go play, the fluffy tom willed her to agree. Please say yes, please say yes..! While he was her father, Adderflare was her mother, and the mother always had the final say when it came to her young. The code of mannerisms from the Prairies thought him that well enough. "We'll stay in camp, and I promise she won't leave your sight! Right, Ferdora?"

Himbo Bob's blue eyes were glowing with youthful energy and he longed to play in the snow with his kit. It would be no fun without her, after all they were family and he wanted to be a proper father to this little one.

OOC: Seeing as Adder is dead, she won't be joining in on the actual snowball fight as I don't want to rp a dead cat lol. After this post, just assume she's watching creepily from the nursery

Adderflare sighed. He was impossible, this tom. A bona fide idiot. She left Sparrowkit's side and stalked up to Himbob. "If anything happens to her, you can say goodbye to your internal organs. Stay where I can see you." She turned back to face her kit and gestured outside with her paw. She would stay here, intervene if necessary. She didn't really believe that Himbob would hurt Sparrowkit, but she'd seen what he could do with those claws. She wasn't about to leave him with her daughter unsupervised. Even if it was accidental, she'd skin him if he damaged her in any way.

Fedora quickly nodded along with her father and held her breath as Adderflare closed the distance between herself and Himbob. For a heartbeat, Fedora was worried her Bobpa would be sent away and she’d have to go without playing that day, but then-- “Yay!” She cheered when Adderflare gave them the go ahead, and the kit barreled past her parents out into the camp, launching herself out into the snow with uncontained glee. "Yay! Snow!"
