In a time of chaos, fam time is #1 [closed]

Antdrop sat in the clearing, observing the "clan." Cats from the DarkForest and his normal clan mates mingled, some of them acting like what had been happening was no big deal at all. Couldn't they tell that everything was off? Nothing was normal anymore; not his mate, clan, or life. Well, at least he had his kits, although he wished they had the chance to grow up with cats who weren't all brutes. Of course he wanted them to be strong warriors, but the way that the DarkForest taught the new to generation to battle... it was unnatural. Letting out a sigh of sadness, thinking about his kits brought his mind to Pebblethorn. Unlike his mate, he loved his kits dearly, and couldn't understand why she wouldn't show the proper love and affection to them like most she-cats. At least they have me, I will never let them follow her odd ways of living, Antdrop reminded himself, hearing paw steps approach him from behind.

Following behind Antdrop was a small new kit. Her wide blue eyes looked around the camp for the first time, soaking in her surroundings and the size of her father. She hadn't seen him much since she was always stuffed inside the nursery, but the times he had been able to visit were much more comforting than any time she had spent with her mother. It was a weird relationship. Rabbitkit padded forward until she stood next to her father's side, looking up at him carefully and timidly. She hoped that she was allowed out here and if she wasn't, she hoped that Antdrop wouldn't be too harsh on her for being out of the nursery when she shouldn't be. She didn't say anything as she stared at him. Her eyes said everything.

Looking down, he noticed his newest and most precious kit, Rabbitkit. The black tom gave a purr to his daughter, glad to have her company. She was so shy and sweet, which wasn't a bother, for he honestly didn't like kits with to much of an crazy personality. Her white-ish pelt resembled more of her mother and even Tinypaw, who almost looked like short and stubby replica of her. A weird replica, he added to himself. Giving a sigh and a slight chuckle, Antdrop looked at Rabbitkit with a somewhat stern yet playful look in his eyes. "I'm assuming that you aren't supposed to be out the nursery?" he meowed softly, not wanting Pebblethorn hear him and take her back to that stuffy den. Besides, she would have much more fun outside with him then with her mother, so might as well let the kit stay.

When her father looked down at her with a somewhat stern look, her own gaze dropped for just a moment as she thought of a response. She hoped that he wasn't going to stay mad at her. She didn't know if she could be out here or not. It was cool, though. "I... I don't know. Pebblethorn didn't say I couldn't," she mewed, wrapping her tiny tail around her tiny paws. She didn't want to go back. There wasn't much room and her mother was so harsh and distant at the same time. Rabbitkit didn't know how to feel about it. Being around her father, though, made her happy. She was hoping he would show her around. "Can I stay here with you? I want to see the camp!" she squeaked, looking back up at him bravely for a moment before receding back into herself. She couldn't help but hope that he would say yes.

He understood why she would want to stay out here, and couldn't blame her. How could he possibly say no? Lightly batting her head with his soft, fluffy black paw, he gave a sigh, half of uneasiness, half excrement. "Of course you can," he replied with a playful roll of his eyes. Her reason for being able to come out of the nursery was pretty good, and he could already tell that this kit would grow up to be extremely intelligent. Unfortunately, Antdrop might get yelled at later for this, but right now, he didn't care. Besides, what harm could come from a kit playing outside with her father for a little while? It was certainly better than being cooped up in that den. "But sadly, we can't leave the camp, okay? Your mother would claw my ear off if I let a kit leave," he added the last part in a playful whisper.

Looking around, he wondered what to do. Most of his kits were already apprentices, and it'd been a while since he'd play any kit-appropriate games. The black tom wanted to come up with something for him and Rabbitkit to play, but his mind was blank, and knowing him, his game wouldn't be that great anyway. "So, uh, what do you want to do?" He asked with a tilt of his head, looking down at his daughter. Maybe letting her decide would be a better choice.
