| Cats from The Asylum and WindClan gather around camp despite the chill breeze that ruffles their fur, and the soft, powder-white snow blanketing the ground. All around camp, pre-caught prey lay buried beneath the snow and hidden behind brush, waiting for tiny teeth and claws to hunt them down. Which kit will catch the most prey? Only time can tell. | Brookkit was the first kit to set off once the games began, and she wasted no time in finding a suitable spot (to the left of the nursery) to begin her search. She was sure she'd win, as she was undoubtedly the best, and perhaps if she won she'd receive an early apprenticeship! Determination to win fueled her paws, and she churned snow behind her.
Her eyes glimmered with victory as she discovered a hare buried in the snow, and she yowled her achievements for the stars to hear. "I found one! I found one!"

| Pigeonkit scanned the camp, looking for a place to start searching. She decided to try near the Apprentice’s Den and hurried over to it so her spot wouldn’t get taken by another kit. The grey kit tilted her head up and stuck her nose into the air, trying to sniff a hint of prey through the scents of snow and dried heather. She noticed Brookit cheering loudly about her find but tried to ignore her and focus on finding a piece of fresh-kill. There! She spotted a lump under the snow and scurried towards it, hoping it was prey.
Driving her paws into the snow she quickly shovled away the powdery white snow covering the lump and revealed a small rabbit. "Yay! I found one!" Now I only have to find two more and I'll win! I'll beat Brookit and Olivestar will be so proud of me!

| Pidgeonkit also found something at the same time she did. Snorting, Brookkit dashed ahead, sniffing the air. There, a bump! Sure she'd find something she began digging, efficiently and neatly, with all the swiftness and grace a true warrior should have. Okay, maybe not all of it..
After digging, she realized with dismay that the bump she'd seen in the snow had only been a rock. With a huff, she turned around, intent not to lose.

| She glanced at Brookit with a nervous expression, but grinned slightly when she realized the thing the other kit had uncovered was merely a rock. Good, we're still tied. Pigeonkit smelled a hint of prey and charged upwind in the direction she thought the scent was coming from. The breeze quickly weakened though and she lost the tantalizing scent of prey.
Mousedung! It has to be around here somewhere! She continued trying to sniff out the fresh-kill, but couldn't smell anything, and the snow nearby was smooth and flat, showing no signs of disturbance besides the path of pawprints she had made.

| Looking around, Brookkit sighed inwardly that Pidgeonkit hadn't found another rabbit or hare. Bursting forward, Brookkit dug deep, hoping to find any kind of prey. The rock had been a disappointing find, she had to redeem herself!..... Just not yet, she noted gazing into the hole with disdain.
