The Golden Hour

Fogpaw stood still hearing claws scampering across the ground toward her, the molly didn't acknowledge the noise. Figuring it didn't concern her, she thought it had been the kits who wandered far from the nursery. Her training had provided enough experience that she was able to to go alone or so she thought. Caught unaware the pawsteps came closer with every step barely alerting her to any notable clanmate of hers.

Maplewhisker padded out to Fogpaw standing alert.  "Ready to go hunt?" she asked him.

The she-cat turned to Maplewhisker, a recently made warrior giving him a surprised yet gleeful smile. "Oh, I didn't see you there!" She commented her tail raised high in the air. The pale apprentice shot him an excited look. Her paws practically bounced off the ground realizing what the other's presence meant - a good old hunt. Hares would be fairly good to bring back or even a lousy bird could do though she wondered if she could get something bigger. "Hunt? Yeah, what else would I be doing out here? C'mon Maplewhisker." Having said that she took off in a quick pace ears perked for potential prey in the area that of which by the other noise from earlier had to be a hare!

Maplewhisker watched as Fogpaw darted off, following a scent-trail.  She opened her mouth to take in the scents around her.  She quickly scented a rabbit and saw the long grasses shaking where it stood.  She quickly darted after it.  Suddenly the scent trail stopped at a hole in the ground. The rabbit had gone into its burrow!  She waved her head back and forth angrily and went back to find Fogpaw.

Maplewhisker tried catching a rabbit.  Catch was unsuccessful.

Fogpaw takes immense joy in her successful catch making her saunter over to the other warrior who came back empty handed. The hare she managed to snag was in her jaws now, although she was nearly the average size of the cat she had to raise her head high. Otherwise, her fresh catch would be ruined from getting dragged on the filthy ground that they walked on. She widened her eyes surprised to see Maplewhisker having caught nothing yet the scent trail was still fresh as ever, leaving her to assume something quite foolish. The apprentice let the hare sit in the ground as she hadn't bothered to ask what occurred - the other hunter's expression telling all she needed to know.

Before she knew it her paws flew over the ground by the speed she was going at, running towards the rabbit that had escaped the warrior. This time the prey would not be as lucky as last time for she cuts it off before it could leave the banks of the open moor. She makes the end swift, grabbing it by the scruff and taking it back to the spot next to the hare.

Fogpaw tried to catch a Hare, costing 3 stamina. The catch was successful!

When Maplewhisker saw that Fogpaw had caught something even though she hadn't she knew she had to get something to bring back.  A hare darted by, most likely scared by Fogpaw's flighty departure.  She saw the opportunity and took after it.  She quickly caught up to it and killed it with a swift blow to the spine.  Sh carried to back to where Fogpaw had set down her hare.

Maplewhisker tried catching the hare.  Catch was successful.

The pale tabby glanced at Maplewhisker who scurried off from her line of sight. She gave another look at the stash of prey she had caught recently before following the she-cat. Fogpaw made a beeline for the warrior only to spot something moving in a patch of grass. Upon investigation it was slender, its scales glistened in the piercing light...it was  snake!

Without hesitation Fogpaw attempts to strike it with her front paw causing a damaging blow against the snake.

Fogpaw used Front Paw Strike, costing 10 stamina. The attack was successful!

Maplewhisker dropped her hare as soon as she saw the snake slithering up to Fogpaw. She darted in, ready to help.
