Turtlekit's Apprentice Ceremony

Stormbringer glanced around the camp for a moment before jumping up onto the Willow Branch. The deputy's eyes were bright and ready for this ceremony. "Let all cats old enough to swim gather here for a clan meeting!"

Turtlekit tumbled from the nursery, half excited and half worried. The queens had told him what to do and expect, but what if something went wrong? Even just having a bunch of cats looking at him was scary. Hopefully nothing would go wrong. At least he didn't get in too much trouble before his ceremony, though, so it hadn't been put off like he was initially worried. He looked up at the deputy with a nervous smile twitching at his lips. There had been no one to groom his messy fur flat.

Amber eyes landed on the kit she was about to name. He seemed a bit nervous if she was reading his body language and expression right but she knew everything would go smoothly. The deputy projected her voice as she began to speak. "Today we are gathered to name an apprentice. Turtlekit please come forward." Stormbringer spoke calmly and clearly, the numerous times she had done this showing.

Once the young tom had approached the Willow Branch the deputy continued to speak. "Turtlekit from this moment on, until you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Turtlepaw. I will be your mentor." She took a small moment to let her words sink in before jumping down off the branch to meet her new apprentice. "I look forward to working with you."
