Burrow by the Border (For Salsaknee)

Shade slipped into her burrow, a fresh mouse in her jaws. It had taken her a while to catch it, but she couldn't eat it yet. She set it lightly on the burrow's floor, turning back around to the entrance. The burrow wasn't very large, only able to fit two cats comfortably, but it was impressive for a day's work. At the entrance, there was a messy pile of moss; it had been pushed out of the way when Shade entered. She carefully started shifting the moss, covering the entrance as best as she could. When she was almost done, she noticed a strange scent in the air. Someone was coming.

The sweltering hot weather had seemed to worsen within the past days, and Wildflower wanted to curl up in her nest, sleep being the best relief from the heat. But she had a duty, one of those being to hunt, and she was going to do that duty. Inhaling the humid air, the blind molly found the scent of mouse, hare, rabbit, and something else - some sort of murky, damp, dark cat scent. Following it despite her worries about what she would find, Wildflower eventually came to a stop at a little integument of moss around some sort of burrow. Pawing it slightly, her whiskers quivered as she slipped into the burrow, where the cat scent - loner scent - was more apparent. She stopped right in front of where she assumed the cat to be. Come on, you have a duty, so do it. The speckled warrior spoke in a cautious tone. “Who are you, and what are you doing on WindClan territory?”

Shade lowered herself, her dark underbelly pressing into the dirt. She took a similar tone to Wildflower's, speaking in a slow, careful rumble, "I go by Shade and I meant to go around your lands. I made a mistake, it would seem." Her gaze darted around the burrow, searching for an escape. With Wildflower at the entrance, there was no way she'd be able to flee if things went violent. On that realization, Shade spoke again, "I'm just resting here, I'll be gone by the next sunhigh."
