Wildpaw's claws dug into the ground. She was sitting at the edge of camp, feeling the wind breeze through the entrance. She wanted to be out there. She wanted to be doing something, something other than sitting around in camp. Even elder duties were impossible! She couldn't see the ticks they wanted her to clean off, and the smell of mouse-bile ruined her scent. And she couldn't go out of camp to get moss. Maybe hunting would be worth a shot. Wildpaw hadn't hunted since the accident, but scent was one of the main factors, and it wouldn't hurt to try it out.
She walked over to the medicine den, scenting for Softpaw. "Softpaw? If you need any herbs, uh, I'm going to go on a hunt - well, try, anyway - and you can come with if you like. Downpaw can come too." Though we probably need a warrior with us. She nodded to Softpaw and added, "Olivestone's coming too."
A few of the warriors had curled up in their nest. Wildpaw wasn't sure where Olivestone was exactly, but she was somewhere in the den. "Olivestone, I want to try hunting, and if you came I'd feel a lot safer." She waited a few seconds, then returned to the camp entrance, waiting for the others.
