Silverpaw's Moonstone Journey

Spiderquill slowly opened his large amber eyes, taking in the usual pale light that crept slowly into the medicine den. Today was important, wasn't it? He racked his brains for a while, eventually remembering that he had a Moonstone journey to attend to. He hopped out of his nest and quickly prepared the travelling herbs, eating one bundle with a slight grimace. The herbs didn't taste much worse than, say, poultice, but the fact that he had to eat them so often certainly didn't help. Grabbing the other bundle in his mouth as usual, he headed towards the apprentices' den and tapped a silver she-cat on the shoulder. "Hi Silverpaw, you ready to head out?" As he whispered, he pushed the bundle of herbs towards her.

Silverpaw's blue eyes glowed in the dim light. She'd been up, waiting for this important journey. She wouldn't have been able to sleep if she tried. There were a knot of nerves tangled up in her belly, but all she did was nod and murmur, "I think so." She winced as Spiderquill pushed the herbs towards her. "I've heard horror stories about these," she joked, making a face as she lapped them up. They were bitter, but bearable, and she nodded. "Okay, ready now."
