Silverpaw dragged herself into the river. Despite everything going on, life could still be enjoyed, even if only in the little things. Things like the familiar gurgle of the river, the drooping shape of the trees near the bank. The cold water that flowed through Silverpaw's fur as she ducked her head beneath the opalescent liquid. She was more at home in the river than on land, and she did a graceful series of flips and turns to calm herself down, before she slowly surfaced.

Silverpaw's ears pricked as two cats neared. She identified them as Streamtail, the blue-gray one, and Willowpaw, the more silvery one. "Hello," she meowed softly, as they grew closer. "Care to join me?" She flicked her tail playfully at Willowpaw, causing a few droplets of water to arc up and land in her pelt. Silverpaw grinned playfully before gesturing to the river. "It's a bit cold, but nice."

Streamtail was padding along the riverbank, when she spotted an apprentice. Smiling to herself, she neared the silver apprentice which she knew was Silverpaw. “Oh, hello! Yes, I would love to join you!” Her long, slender tail flicked and she leaped into the water, laughing as the currents swirled under her paws. “This is exactly why I love swimming.” Streamtail said to herself, sighing in content. Her blue-gray pelt turned more blue to match the color of the river, and she smiled slightly.

Willowpaw wasn't doing anything in particular, so she figured it wouldn't hurt to join them 
"Sure!" she said. When she first stepped in, she felt the usual cold nip, then quickly got used to it.  "I love swimming because it's relaxing.  It takes the weight off your paws."  Using a trick that Streamtail had showed her, Willowpaw dived under the water and swam under Silverpaw.  When she was directly under her, she tickled her stomach with her tail. She popped back onto the surface.  "That's a trick that Streamtail showed me." she waited to see what Silverpaw would react.

Silverpaw grinned as the two she-cats joined her. She laughed as Willowpaw tickled her, and popped underwater right before she surfaced, a mischievous glint in her eyes. Underwater, Silverpaw swam under Willowpaw until she was directly behind her. She surfaced without a sound and widened her eyes at Streamtail to be quiet before yelling, “Boo!” She grinned at Streamtail and Willowpaw, happy to be in a situation that didn’t involve stupid little starry cats.
