Fallowkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath Jaggedrock for a Clan meeting!" Scorchfang's meow rang out through the camp from the top of the ceremonial rock.

Fallowkit peeked out of the nursery before bounding out into the open along with a stream of Clanmates. Was this finally her apprentice ceremony? She situated herself close to the Jaggedrock, grooming herself quickly, just in case. She stared, wide-eyed, up at Scorchfang, her tail swaying back and forth impatiently.

"Fallowkit, step forward," Scorchfang gently commanded of the young cat, waiting for her to do so before continuing. "You have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. Fallowkit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Fallowpaw. Asterleaf will be your mentor. She may be younger than most warriors, but I know she will be able to pass down what she has learned to you."

Asterleaf almost jumped out of her pelt when Scorchfang announced who would be mentoring this apprentice. Me? The very new warrior's eyes grew. Immediately she shook it off, not wanting to worry her new apprentice. "Hello Fallowpaw. I look forward to mentoring you. We will start tomorrow". The warrior spoke all with this with a quickly found air of confident, something that she did not usually have. She leaned in and touched noses with Fallowpaw before turning to face Scorchfang and she dipped her head.
