Owlpaw's Moonstone Journey

Leopardclaw set down a bundle of traveling herbs onto a semi-dry patch of ground, before calling into the apprentice's den: "Owlpaw, it's time to go!"  Today marked yet another journey to the Moonstone, and this time it would be for another of Specklefang's kits.  Owlpaw was the sister of his now former apprentice Sharptooth, and he wondered if she was just as...exuberant as her sibling.

Owlpaw heard the call and stretched making her way to Leopardclaw quiet like for the moment"we heading to the moonstone?"She asked looking at or rather slightly down because of her massive size to the deputy.

Leopardclaw nodded a casual greeting as the large brown tabby she-cat emerged from her den; she was every inch alike to her mother Specklefang, and the lithe golden deputy couldn't help but feel a bit odd by the fact than an apprentice was taller than him.  "Yes, we are.  First though, eat these herbs.  They will give you strength for the long journey, and quiet your hunger."  Pushing the pile of herbs towards Owlpaw, he got to his paws and waited for her to finish.

Owlpaw blinked and crouched down quietly when he told her to eat the herbs. Lapping them up quietly the warrior aged apprentice face scrunched up in a bit of disgust at the floor before she stood."Alright then"She mewed flicking an ear let's get going?"She mewed though it came out as more of a question

Leopardclaw blinked approvingly as he watched Owlpaw consume the small bundle of herbs, and turned towards the camp entrance, answering her question through an assured flick of his tail as the tom led the way out of camp, and out into the snowy forest.

Owlpaw taking his gesture as a yes,she moved forward with the deputy. Owlpaw pushed through the camp entrance and followed Leopardclaw through the snowy terrain that was Thunderclan territory at the moment.

Thanks to the snow, the pair's long trek across WindClan's moorland, Twoleg territory, and up the rock-studded slope of Highstones felt as if it took an age longer than usual, and when they had finally reached the entrance to Mothermouth, Leopardclaw plopped down onto a semi-dry patch of earth with an exhausted sigh of relief.  Compared to other cats in ThunderClan, he was still quite young; but that didn't mean he wasn't beginning to feel older by the day, thanks in part to the harshness of leaf-bare.  The sun was beginning to dip low in the sky, and after taking a brief rest, Leopardclaw rose to his paws and beckoned Owlpaw to follow him to the entrance of Mothermouth.  The dark tunnel loomed ahead, but the deputy stepped confidently over it's threshold, motioning for Owlpaw to do the same.

Owlpaw had remained silent the whole trek there as the massive she cat took in the snow covered areas they passed. As they reached Mothermouth she plopped down as well resting for a moment. Once he moved inside she follow not much like the tight squeeze she felt as she slipped further into the tunnel but she had followed Leopardclaw all the same.

Weaving their way through the twisting world of tunnels, Leopardclaw occasionally glanced back at the dark tabby she-cat behind him, who was barely visible in the darkness.  His pawsteps were strong and sure, knowing the way he had traveled many times now like second nature.  He kept his tail raised high, a sort of beacon in the darkness, until they finally caught sight of the cavern entrance.  Stepping into the dim light cast by the few stars that shone through the small opening in the ceiling, Leopardclaw motioned for Owlpaw to wait, watching the Moonstone with keen interest.  Soon enough, the moon began to pass over, and the beautiful crystal burst into life, washing the cave with vivid white light.  "Owlpaw, it is time for you to speak with StarClan.  Step forward, and touch your nose to the Moonstone; may sleep find you quickly."

With them now in the brightly lit area with the moonshine in the center she made her way forward as she was told. Her ears flat against her massive head as she moved forward before laying down and pressing her nose to the stone. Sleep took her instantly. Now she only awaited starclan to speak to her.

Falconpaw was the only inconsistency in the landscape. Everything else was calm and regal yet, the malnourished apprentice remained with a slight shimmer to his pelt being the only thing proving his residence. He gave Owlpaw a nervous smile or, at least tried to. Smiling never came naturally to him. "H-hello, Owlpaw." He took a moment, a guarded look crossing his bony features. "You mist be one of Leafstorm and Specklefang's kits." He frowned slightly. He'd missed so much, too much. But, he wasn't done yet. His focus was on Rockthorn and Sunpaw and... A new responsibility. He hoped Blizzardshine had been right about him. Not now. "R-right. I-i'm Falconpaw. I d-doubt your mother s-spoke of me much. Anyways.. Th-thunderClan i-is in bad sh-shape but, it was worse during R-rockthorn's rampage. Is there any-anything you wanted to talk about?"

"Y..yeah"She mewed standing now in starclan territory. She looked at Falconpaw"I don't really know...."She mewed flicking her tail."what exactly happened to you?"She mewed. He had been right about her not knowing who he was.

"M-me? It d-doesn't quite matter now." he fidgeted. "T-to spare you the d-details, I h-had a lot of tr-trouble eating." he meowed. "I pr-probably would have d-died a lot sooner had Bl-blizzardshine, well, Blizzardstar now, not h-helped me.
She's v-very good at keeping a l-level head. I wished more c-cats were that way."

Owlpaw blinked then flicked her tail"oh ok"she mewed flicking her fluffy tail."So dont..um Starclan cats have like some advice of some sort?"She asked.
