It has taken months, but my eyes have finally made a recovery. Yay, no more reading headaches!

Unfortunately, I've been gone so long I'm thinking it might be in everyone's best interest to just make some new characters. Is there an official method for this?

Welcome back! :D

It's totally up to you if you want to create new characters; you don't have to do anything specific to get rid of them, just pronounce them dead so you can open up their slots. If you do want to keep them though, PM Pikachu or Sleepy, and they will help you get them back!
