Hunting for Swiftpaw (closed)

Sitting near the camp entrance, Ryecloud waited for his apprentice to wake up and join him. Today, the two toms would go on a hunting patrol and he prayed to StarClan that he'd be able to keep up with Swiftpaw, seeing that he had some struggles about him.

Swiftpaw quickly made his way to the camp entrance where his mentor was waiting for him. He had been awakened by his mentor for training which he had been looking foward to. "Hello Ryecloud!" he greeted excitedly. "What are we going to do?" he asked.

OOC: sorry for the wait.

IC: Lifting his head from looking at the ground, Ryecloud stood up and gave his pelt a shake. "Be gobing to vunt," the crooked jawed tom mewed. With that, the grey and white warrior limped out of camp and into the wilderness where he headed to their first destination to hunt at.

OOC: It's all good! :)

IC: 'We're hunting today?' his eyes widened in excitement. He followed behind the older tom to thier hunting place.

OOC: ak, sorry for the wait, again >< and no worries on the length btw~

IC: Nodding his head at the apprentice's question, the two toms soon reached the middle of the territory. Since most of the WindClan's land was tall grass, it made it hard to see very far in the distance, but even so, it made for perfect hunting conditions. "What boo you smell?" he asked, and looked down to Swiftpaw.

OOC: Im really sorry for the very late response!! Swiftpaw is very close on becoming a warrior! :3

Swiftpaw took a couple of sniffs after his mentor's question. He tilted his head before taking a final sniff. He turned to face the older tom before giving him his answer. "I smell what I think is a rabbit." He hoped he was right.

Nodding his head at what the apprentice smelt, Ryecloud tilted his head towards the direction of the scent. "Bo see biff you van catch mit," the crooked jawed cat mewed, hoping the younger tom was able to understand him.

Swiftpaw nodded and went in search for the quick creature. Once he spotted the source of the smell, he proceded to crouch and step as slightly as he could.

Rabbits relied on their sense of hearing and smell. If it heard him or scented him, it'd run back to where it came. Even though Swiftpaw was one of the most agile apprentices in Windclan, he wouldn't go after a rabbit. The chase would tire him and he needed energy.

He had neared the rabbit. It made no indications that it had heard him. He kept an eye out and slowly prepared to pounce. After a few seconds, he pounced. Swiftpaw beamed as he caught it. He quickly killed it and brought it back to his mentor.

"bood job," the tom mewed when the apprentice returned to him with the rabbit in his mouth. "Vant to bed back bow?"

The young apprentice puffed out his chest at Ryecloud's praise. He nodded and put his catch down. "That sounds good to me!" he said to his mentor's suggestion. He picked up his rabbit and waited for the older tom to lead the way.

Ryecloud and his apprentice headed back to camp, satisfied with how successful the day had been.
