Shadowclan's Deputy

"Let all cats old enough to capture their own prey gather underneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!" Of course Leopardstar was familiar with the summons. He had heard them all his life, and had spoken them himself a few times. But this was the firs time he said them as the leader, and standing on top of the Jaggedrock felt the same way as when he first climbed it. He could get used to this view, alright. He glanced in the direction of the setting sun. Everyone would be waking by now, and he had just returned from the Moonstone with his nine lives. Leopardstar's green eyes traced over the camp and the cats beginning to flood the open space.

Blazeflight filed into her place, happy to see Leopardstar at the Jaggedrock. She was excited to have a new leader, and happy for Thrushstripe to finally have a break.

Shadewillow's head lifted curiously from its previously bent position, pink tongue quickly darting across his maw as he stared at the newly-named Leopardstar, pausing mid-bite as he did so. Blinking after a moment, he quickly scarfed down the remains of his frog and rose to his paws hurriedly before trotting towards the Jaggedrock, ears pricked with interest as he approached.

Flamestrike padded out of the den and looked eagerly up at the new leader. It was time for a deputy to be named as was custom. The clan had a lot of great warriors and he could not wait to see who Leopardstar named to serve the clan.

Ambernose blinked and looked up from where she sat before she flicked Her tail and looked to Leopardstar.

Littlebrook padded out of the warriors den at their new leader's call. Leopardstar was probably appointing a deputy now, and she had some ideas about who it could be. She made her way to Jaggedrock, tail tip twitching with curiousity, before sitting down next to Ambernose.

Silentstorm followed his mother to a spot next to his sister and sat down to wait for the new deputy to be anointed.

Ryepaw trotted out of the apprentice's den. Noticing Ambernose sitting nearby, he took a seat fairly close to her, trying hard to conceal his blush. He guessed that this meeting was to name the new deputy; the thought lit a light of excitement in his heart. Ryepaw's dream was to someday achieve that ranking in the clan, and he looked forward to see who would gain it now. Who could it be?

Waspstep padded out of the warriors den and joined the others in front of the Jaggedrock. Mottleclaw, struggled out of the elder's den and joined his fellow clanmates.

Rosefur, turned to the sound of Leopardstars voice. She figured that he was back as a leader and ready to announce his deputy. With excitement in her paw-steps she headed over towards the Jaggedrock, as she glanced around the group of cats, curious to see who the next cat in line to be leader would be.

Honeydrop followed Leopardstar back from Highstones, amber eyes and collected. It was good to know that Clan life carried on. There were many stellar cats in ShadowClan who would make good deputies. She had advised him to choose someone who would add to his rule, and not just support it. She waited for his choice beneath the Jaggedrock.

It was a hard to swallow, Thrushstripe being...Well, Thrushstripe. Even the name sounded strange to Larksong as she stepped from the warrior's den, stretching out in the crisp Newleaf air. There was no doubt what this was about - Leopardstar had to announce who would be his deputy. It was an odd thing, the shift in power that ShadowClan was now experiencing. She shook her head, unsure how long it was going to take her to be used to this as she sat down and curled her tail around her paws. There was so many good choices for Leopardstar to make, she had to wonder who he would pick to be his deputy.


Smokestripe looked up from where he had been relaxing, getting to his paws quickly as he padded over to Larksong as the she-cat stepped from the warrior's den. His eyes were wide with wonder, sitting down next to his friend as he stared up at Leopardfang. How strange it was to see the dappled tom up there and not Thrushstripe...It would be a good while until this all felt normal again but Smokestripe had to admit it was refreshing. His whiskers twitched, glancing around as he tried to guess who would be the deputy.

Hazeflight lifted her head as Leopardstar yowled from Jaggedrock. The silver She-cat swiped a silver paw over her ear and quickly took a seat next to Flamestrike. Hazeflight guessed that the meeting would be about naming the new deputy, she was rather excited by the prospect, and she hoped it was someone who deserved the place.

While most clans were in mourning during the suns following a new leader's reign, ShadowClan was lucky enough not to lose their old leader to StarClan. Despite his retirement being rather sudden, every cat knew Thrushstripe deserved a break. The change would take some time for the clan to adjust to but with Leopardfan- Leopardstar in charge, everything would be okay.

With his chest puffed out in pride for his best friend's nine lives, Magpiewing padded out into the clearing. There was no mistaking what this clan gathering would be for. Leopardstar needed a deputy. Someone he could trust and share responsibility with. ShadowClan had its fair share of capable warriors, so the black warrior was sure the new leader would choose the best candidate for the position.
