The Outbreak (Sitewide idea)

In this week's installment of Ripped drank too much coffee and cannot sleep and decided to come up with plots...

(I have a feeling this needs to be approved by an admin before it becomes a thing, but it said above to post any ideas for sitewide plots here. Also, this may be totally crazy and stupid, but it's an idea I had. Criticism and thoughts are welcome).

Leafbare is coming to an end and the promise of a good newleaf is on the way. There are minor issues between clans, but no major wars. However, something begins to dampen the spirits of the clans. Cases of a mysterious illness begin popping up in all of the clans (later found out to be caused by something the twolegs have gotten in the water). It starts the same: a fever and chills. Nothing too serious. But in later stages cats start seeing things and going insane. The medicine cats have tried everything, but their herbs only dampen the effects of the disease.

When nothing seems to be working and hope starts to run out, Starclan steps in not willing to watch the clans be destroyed. The medicine cat apprentices (doesn't have to be all, could only be some) are chosen to go on a journey to find the cure. Not wanting to pull the medicine cats away from their attempts to slow down the spread of the illness, the mca's are sent to find out how to stop this. Along with, a warrior from each clan is chosen to accompany them (by the leaders). Their journey leads them past highstones where there is a cove filled with snakes. It is later revealed that the snake poison can counter the effects of the poison and (along with the other herbs used) cure the sick cats. A loner who lives near the snakes is recruited to help them figure this out and aid them. The group is faced with the task of killing the snakes to bring back the venom and returning to the clans before it is too late.

Some points:
-Leaders would be in charge of picking the warrior escorts (not necessarily a sign-up part. Could be, but clan leaders would pick who got it)
-1 warrior per clan picked
-All clans would be infected
-It is spread through the water sources and could be spread via things like sharing tongues
-Rain water is safe to drink
-Due to insanity being an issue, this could lead to death if anyone wanted it to
-Clan leaders/deputies/medicine cats would have to meet (outside of a gathering) to discuss the illness and plans
-Starclan could come to one MCA and reveal what needs to be done
-Starclan could also only pick a couple apprentices to go, the rest stay to aid the medicine cats
-Only the loner knows that the snake venom can cure this kind of thing (he/she is an old cat who has seen something similar before, lived near twolegplace before, etc.)
-Suggestions to develop this plot further than my caffeine infused brain had brought it are welcome

Yeah, you need admin approval for sitewide plots but you're welcome to post ideas. Maybe hold off on getting people to sign up for now. I'll have a talk with staff about it, we do have a sitewide plot in the works RN, but maybe this might be better?

Oh I like this idea! Perfect chance for me to get Hollowfang to go temporarily insane and maybe start a killing spree lmao.

jk, jk, but a cool idea, and for Belleblue, maybe he could totally hate everyone except for Gust, and then she sets him straight after he is all better?

Also, if this gets approfed, I could throw Willowwhisker in as a sick kitteh who loses her mind, and hopefully Gustpuddle as the Windclan warrior to accompany the MCA~

NO ARE YOU KIDDING I COME OVER HERE TO POST AN IDEA ABOUT SOME SORT OF VIRUS OR PLAGUE FOR A SITEWIDE PLOT AND WHAT DO I FIND?!

Anyway, frustration over, I like this plot better than the one I had in mind and I'm 150% in for this if it gets approved.

Sorry to double post but I had an idea. So, let's say you sign your cat up to go insane. Well, it should be down to a dice roll as to whether or not it's permanent, and whether or not they can therefore be cured. If we go with death instead of insanity, it should be a dice roll deciding whether they live or die. I know I'm not explaining it too well. So it should be that someone signs up their cat for the plot, so let's saw I volunteer Venompaw I AM NOT ACTUALLY VOLUNTEERING HER THIS IS JUST AN EXAMPLE, a dice would then be rolled and it'd be something like this:

Catch disease, can be cured: 1-5
Catch Disease, can't be cured (aka. go permanently insane or die): 6-10

Obviously the admins would adjust the numbers and maybe make it so that each rank has a different chance of surviving but the point is that this means by volunteering your cat you are taking a genuine risk. It could even be that there are 3 categories, like this:

Cured: 1-4
Go Insane: 5-7
Die: 8-10

I'm well aware that cats will go insane if they get it, the dice would determine if it was permanent or if the cure helped/got to them in time

You dont have to kill your cat if you dont want to, it wouldnt be up to a ice roll, I dont think.

Nah nah nah, Hollow would still love Gust. If I was to make him go a little insane he'd probably have bursts of it. If. Originally when I made him I wanted him to be a murderer lmao but I guess he hasn't gone down that direction. Gustpuddle kinda halted it lol. He's a sane kitteh now. Just... overprotective haha.
