Owlpaw's and Adderpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Crowstar called out to his clan, "Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather here for a clan meeting!"

Lightningstrike padded out into the clearing with pride in his eyes.

Cherrymist guided her way by scent amongst the other SkyClanners, her ears pricked in wonder.

Adderpaw strode forward at Crowstar's call, her thick, sleek fur along her nape prickling with excitement, confidence displayed in every step she took. "I can't believe it's finally time for me to become a warrior- it's been moons since Vipertail became a warrior!" she reflected with a sullen twitch of her tail as she stopped in the front of the crowd, puffing her chest and tilting her chin as she sat down.

Owlpaw trotted out, his thick grey-russet bristly fur groomed carefully. Lightningstrike had told him that his ceremony was pending—and anyway, it was time now, the tom knew.

His aqua eyes shimmering, he sat beside his denmate, ears pricked and tail-tip twitching. The older apprentice snuck a glance over to his mentor and gave a small, nearly hidden grin. He seemed calm despite the excited fire raging throughout his body, giving his loyally thumping heart something that made it beat quicker.

Adderpaw gazed Owlpaw with eager eyes, scooting over slightly to give the tom some more room beside her at the front of the slowly gathering crowd. "It feels like we should of been made warriors moons ago!" She hissed, although her words lacked any sort of real complaint- she was much too excited to find fault in the situation.

Eagleheart padded out into the clearing at Crowstar's call. The corner of his mouth twitched in a half-smile. He knew Adderpaw was about to become a warrior. The warrior sat fairly close to her, packing in against the other cats that were gathered. He had enjoyed watching the sassy, frustrating, young she-cat grow into a fine warrior. She was certainly much bigger and tougher than when the two of them had first gone out in to the forest together and gotten in trouble with her mentor. Eagleheart had been a young warrior then, but it didn't feel like that long ago.

He flicked his tail towards the apprentice and commented just loud enough for her to hear, "I'm still hoping for Addertongue."

Hollypaw joined the gathering cats a small smile creeping along her maw as she realised what was happening. The Bengal she-cat strode past Eagleheart, her ice blue eyes glinting. " I still don't get why they named you Eagleheart, Eaglefall suits you far better." she purred as she squished herself in between Adderpaw and her father.

OOC - To wrap this up, we can just say that Vixenheart has been here the entire time.

IC - Vixenheart looked down at the two apprentices with a smile. Both Adderpaw and Owlpaw had proven themselves to be warrior-worthy. She beckoned the two apprentices forwards.
"It is time for these two apprentices to become warriors. Adderpaw, Owlpaw, please step forwards."

Adderpaw rolled her eyes at Eagleheart's friendly jibe, but quickly redirected her attention towards Vixenheart, watching as the deputy beckoned them forward. Quickly rising to her paws, she padded forward towards the deputy, eyes sparking with excitement.

Snorting at Adderpaw's comment, then quickly covering it up with a cough, Owlpaw stood, his paws quivering slightly against the familiar tough dirt. This is it! The patched tom traveled after the she-cat, a little behind, but when they arrived at the front he was right beside her, lifting his head proudly. Finally, he could tour the forest on his own accord! He shook his head to the side, swiping his tongue around his muzzle once.

"Ready?" he muttered to his denmate, giving her a sideways grin.

Seeing that both had stepped forwards, Vixenheart continued, "I, Vixenheart, deputy of SkyClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They had trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turn. Adderpaw, Owlpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Adderpaw returned the lopsided grin that Owlpaw shot her, knocking her shoulder against him lightly in response, although no verbal response left her mouth as she didn't wish for Vixenheart to catch them mumbling and joking at their own warrior ceremony. Flicking her ears as the Deputy spoke, she redirected her attention towards the she-cat perched above them, wriggling her paws in anticipation as Vixenheart spoke the ceremonial words. "I do." She promised proudly, puffing her chest out as she spoke- this was finally it!

Squelching his excited, immature grin into a slightly more mature smile—still his eyes were alight with playfulness—the tom threw his shoulders back, pride filling him at the thought of the clan behind him. Soon, he would be able to fight for them, hunt for them. The thought sent a apprehensive chill up his spine, and not a heartbeat after Adderpaw, he repeated: "I do."

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I grant you your warrior names. Adderpaw, you shall be known as Addergaze. Owlpaw, you shall be known as Owltalon. StarClan honors your loyalty and determination, and welcome you as full warriors of SkyClan." Vixenheart finished, and it didn't take any less than a heartbeat for the cheering to begin. Vixenheart leaped down off of the Tallbranch and rested her muzzle on first Owltalon's head, then on Addergaze's head.
