Along the Borders [Open Patrol Topic]

Amberpelt was grooming her pelt in bliss. One eye was closed, the other kept track of the position of the sun. She had been awake easier then she was expecting which gave her plenty of time to care for her pelt before the patrol she had planned with Whitepaw. Her apprentice was doing well in their training, she was sure Whitepaw would be a warrior soon enough. She had already had plans to do Whitepaw's assessment rather soon but she had to make sure that Whitepaw was ready. But today was a simple border patrol. Amberpelt stretched out with a yawn before she pulled herself to her paws. Heading to the entrance of the camp, she sat down with her ears perked, waiting for Whitepaw to wake up so that they could head out. Of course, she wouldn't turn down anybody else that wanted to join.

Shellwater made her way out of the nursery, grinning broadly. Now that her kits were apprentices, she was a warrior again! Her burnished orange eyes stared happily at the sunlit sky, pelt welcoming the brisk, chilly air. It was so nice to be out! She spotted Amberpelt near the camp entrance and trotted over. I haven't been patrolling in ages! Sweet StarClan, I've aslmost forgotten what the territory looks like! Welp, time to fix that. Shaking out her scarred calico pelt, the former queen stood by the young warrior. "Mind if I join you?" she purred.

Something was happening outside the den, some cats were talking and they were probably heading for patrol on the borders. But then she heard familiar voice, it was her mentor. When she opened her eyes Amberpelt was standing very near her. She immediately stood up and ask: "What are we up to today?" She was interested in it, altough she had awaken some seconds ago.

Dawnsong had been casually grooming her tabby pelt when she saw multiple cats gathered around the camp entrance. Curious, the she-cat padded over and greeted the group. "Morning. Are you going on a patrol? If you are then I'd love to tag along."

"Count me in, too," a voice called from the other side of the camp. Stormheart trod across the frozen mud and joined the little congregation of warrior that had gathered for a patrol. He hadn't been out of the camp all day, and he was itching to do get up and do some hunting of sniffing around the border for trouble. Anything to get him away from this drab pit of a camp. "I've been sitting around here all day watching the kits have play-fights. 'Bout time I warmed myself up and got out."

Yellowpaw woke up. There was a sound of cats talking and preparing for something. When he got out of a den, he saw unusally big number of cats. There were two younger cats, but other were all warriors. Maybe they are heading for patrol? Then he tought for a moment. He have had his training for enough time and now he can join the patrol. Sure, Aspentail would not miss him. He came closer and noded to the question of white she-cat apprentice, whiich asked: "Are you going to join us?"

Whitepaw saw younger tom coming closer to them and she immediately asked him, if he would join them. When he said yes, she was very happy, because know she would have companion from apprentices with her.

Amberpelt's ears perked as Shellwater came padding over, purring happily in greeting at the queen as she dipped her head in greeting. She opened her mouth, ready to reply with a resounding yet at her request to join but stopped as she spotted more cats coming. The first was Vixenpaw, her other apprentice. She had been planning to let her relax in the camp for today while she took Whitepaw out but simply nodded her head at apprentice. Then Whitepaw arrived, followed by Dawnsong, Stormheart, then finally Yellowpaw - Whitepaw's sibling. So many cats, she simply glanced between them all before nodding her head. "You all can join," she announced but she felt a hot flush of blush in her cheeks, nervous at the idea of being in charge of a patrol of all of these cats. Well, at least she could focus on teaching the borders to Vixenpaw, Whitepaw and Yellowpaw. With a flicker of her tail, she spun and led the large group into the territory - heading for the river that separated them and SkyClan first with an idea of their route in her mind.

Shellwater nodded and followed Amber pelt, enjoying the territory's smells, sights and sounds. All the other cats on the patrol were overwhelming, but not horribly so. It was nice to relax outside. When they passed a small freshwater stream of melted snow, the queen stopped for a moment and gulped down all the cold, clean water she could hold until her throat hurt. Ah, she had missed getting out and about in the territory, and it was good to see running water and drink from something other than snow or moss again. Shaking out her scarred calico fur, she caught up with the patrol, moving at a brisk trot. It was good that they were headed to the river- she needed a good swim.

Whitepaw was listening carefully if Amberpelt would tell anything, because it can be important for her path to the warriors. She was very happy that so much cats did join them and that if they find something important, they are strong enough to fight anyone. Altough there were here three apprentices, but these three were learning fighting for some time now and they are prepared for anything.

Yellowpaw was thinking, he got on this patrol from one reason, to improve on his path to the warrior. He was curious which of the apprentices would become a warrior first. It was obvious that he was the oldest from them and the Vixenpaw was the youngest. But sometimes can happen that younger cats became warriors earlier, because of fighting in a battle or something similar.

Dawnsong padded just behind Amberpelt, daydreaming about things. Things was all she would say if anyone asked, that is. Her thoughts were her own.

She gave a smile to the other cats and glanced around the territory.
